Rated 4 out of 5 by from Decent project tile saw Used this to resize subway tiles along the length of a 12 foot long kitchen backsplash. It worked well. The major sticking point, which isn't well explained in the other reviews, is the blade it comes with isn't great. The way Ryobi keeps the cost down is by including the cheap blade, which is only good for a few cuts before it gets dull and makes crummy, jagged, kind of dangerous cuts! So look out. Iff you want good results, you need a good blade. If you upgrade to a quality 7" blade and change the water when it becomes really opaque, this saw works quite well.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great for the price I have a few more tile/stone jobs that I need to do, so I bought this saw. Way better than the rental units I've gotten from HD. It cuts really well. I saw an earlier review, where the person said that the blade that came with the saw was no good. He suggested buying a expensive blade. I did that (didn't even try the one it came with). No issues using it. The only 2 (minor) things were the on/off switch is small and awkward to access from above. And the "hinge" that is uses to put the top piece (water goes below) is not the best design. But for the price, it gests the job done nicely.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Worked great! I bought this tile saw about a month ago to cut some glass tile for a kitchen back splash. I had read many reviews and decided on this one. For the price it seemed to be the best choice for the job. I was very impressed with it's performance. I found it easy to use and set up. I would recommend it to any DIYer. It did spray a little but I have never used one that didn't, rented or bought. In my garage I put up plastic drop sheets behind it and under the work bench I was using and that sufficed to keep the spray contained. So glad I bought it and have a reliable tool in my DIY arsenal.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Not Ryobi’s best I love Ryobi products, but this is the exception. This might be good if you’ve never used a wet tile saw before, but it’s more difficult to use than it should be. The mitre guide has too much play so the tile moves around and the cuts aren’t as accurate as they could be. The splash hood bracket (behind the splash hood) is thicker than most saw blades so the tile stops at about 5 inches of cutting. Then you have to flip it and try again. And while you’re cutting and trying to be straight, the water covers most of what you can see so you have to stop and go, stop and go, etc. If you have the money, get a bigger saw that has a sliding blade on top.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Difficult to get clean cuts Unfortunately I struggled to get clean cuts on glazed ceramic tile. The table seams didn't line up flush and the saw table was therefore not completely flat. While the saw definitely cuts and functions well for its price point I just couldn't get it to make precise, clean cuts without chipping the glaze or cracking corners of tiles. Perhaps a denser tile would have faired better.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from 2 saws broken in 1.5 jobs I had to return this saw after it broke on my first job (tile cutting surface faulty). Home Depot was great and let me trade it in for a new saw which finished the job. I just pulled this 2nd saw out to use for a second time in 3 years and the motor started smoking after not engaging the blade. Quick google search leads me to believe the start capacitor is faulty. I have to believe this thing is intended for completing more than 2 jobs but who knows. No matter what, the cheep price is not worth the headache of having projects delayed because of junk tools.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from get the job done I am happy with my purchase. After some research, even a $ 300 wet saw has negative review, so I decide to buy a cheaper one. Overall it gets the job done without any issue. Basically it is not a bad saw, easy to use, the stock blade is junk, it dull pretty fast, once I have switched to a better blade, it cuts a lot better. One thing, before I bought this saw, I rented one from home depot for 4 hours, it is a $ 200-$300 range saw, compare to this roybi saw, there is really not much of the different.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Best saw in its price range Ok, this is a small tile saw. Definitely not contractor grade. This is a DYI'er saw. I used it to tile a shower with 13'x13' porcelain tile. The included blade work for the entire job. Not the best blade, but, the saw performed as expected. I have used the larger more powerful saws. But for the price and experience level, this will get small jobs done around the home. If you are a contractor thats going to be using this everyday, spend the extra money for a saw with more power.

Is this a wet tile saw?

Asked by: Benljepsen
Yes. I bought this saw a couple of years ago, and DIY the backsplash for my own two kitchens. It worked great.

I am a glass fuser and am looking at this unit to cut thicker pieces of fused glass (perhaps up to 1" thick. I know I will require a special blade for this, but wonder if this particular model might be just what I need. Thank you

Asked by: summerhill
Not sure. Saw worked very well on standard tile but on the few thicker pieces I had it seemed under powered. However this could also have been the standard blade. I think this is geared more to casual use in general
