Rated 1 out of 5 by from Lawnmower Does Not Work as Advertised I buy EVERYTHING Ryobi as i love their product line but this lawnmower is awful! The lawnmower will stall on you every couple of feet. I have 2 4.0Ah batteries that are drained by the time i'm not even done the small front yard. It now takes me 2 days to cut the grass. To be fair it worked fine the first year i had it but this year it is awful. I have it on the highest setting and have full battery power and i might get 20 minutes on both batteries combined. The batteries overheat and take time to recharge them as well. I would not purchase and this is coming from a big Ryobi fan!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great addition to my Ryobi tools collection. With all the mixes reviews, I was a bit sceptical about buying this lawn mower. But the whole 18 volt one+ eco-system was still very attractive as I have a few Ryobi tools. And also, this mower seem to fit my needs as I don’t have a big lawn but I leave in attached duplex and I wanted a cordless and light lawn mower so that I could carry it through my house to do the back and front lawn and being a hybrid seem to be a plus in case the battery ran out of juice. 1 day I happen to be my neighborhood Home depot and this lawn mower was on sales so I bought it. Let me say I was pleasantly surprised with the performance of it. Yes, I which it had little more torque as on some patches the lawn mower did slow down a bit and even stall on me 1 time. And yes, the battery did drain a bit quick as I need to plug it in to finish the job. However, I didn’t mow my lawn for a few weeks and my grass was somewhat tall and a bit wet from recent rain we had. (On a side note, I use one 4 amps high capacity battery with a second normal battery at 1.25 amps). I suspect the next time I should be able to finish the job without the need to plug it in. Overall, I`m happy with my purchase. It fit my needs and is a great addition to my Ryobi tools collection.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from DO NOT BUY Okay first off, I don't ever do reviews. Second, I believe in giving everything a chance. The wife wanted a new lawn mower so I reviewed many. I found a good one but it was online only and we couldn't wait. So she went ahead and got this mower. I'm honestly VERY surprised it even got 2 stars. Now my grass ain't this special amazon grass that you need a machete for. It's just thin grass that was about 5 inches maybe. This so called electric lawn mower cost me more in gas than a gas one would for one season. It barely made it 15 feet (that's when I got fed up) without stopping 4 times. And every time I restarted it back up I would even lift the mower on the back wheels so the blade could get momentum. Anyways like I said I never do reviews, so PLEASE take my word and save yourself time and gas. Do not buy this mower....... Just get scissors instead.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Can't handle the heat ..... overheating issues. Bought this spent the second half of the summer fighting with the battery overheating. Paid the extra for the better battery same problem. Always had a half unfinished lawn. Even tried to plug in the lawn mower and after a few passes the mower would overheat plugged In. So sick of this lawnmower. We have a normal sized yard tried exchanging batteries etc. This spring same problem once the weather reach 20 degrees it won't work.....they better take it back barely got time to test over the second half of the summer with always exchanging or upgrading the batteries.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Great flexibility but overall disappointing... I bought this product a couple of weeks ago and have been consistently disappointed. I live in a townhouse and have a small front and backyard. The first time I cut the lawn the batteries died quickly, so I thought maybe they were not charged the whole way. I just tried to cut the lawn again today with two fully-charged batteries and the lawnmower died every time I tried to cut a full strip of lawn. #nopower. The only way the battery for more than a couple minutes at a time is if I only cut half-strips and went very slowly. However, this is review is 2 stars because it works great when plugged in, but not the most convenient to plug it in all the time.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Does what expected it to do! NO batteries included, it's a shame! I was disappointed... With one standard battery I allready have, I confirm it has less power than corded, and autonomy is a few minutes. After buying the two 4Ah battery pack though, I have the feeling it's as powerful as when it's corded, and I can mow my 1500sq/ft lawn in less than 30min with more than 25-50% battery capacity left. I can obviously re-use the batteries for my other Ryobi power tools as well. Cons: no batteries are included! Pros: Dream comes true: I mow with no cord and no noise!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from No power I am usually a big fan of Ryobi, but they struck out on this one. I have a 20x40 lawn in front. I went through 6 batteries (4 new inside the past month) and still was only ALMOST half done. I don't have a power outlet outside, which is why I went with battery powered. I ran a cord from inside the house, the mower was significantly more powerful (~400%?). Still, when I finished a pass and turned around for the next, the mower would power down. This is all with the height at max. It wouldn't cut at all on battery when set to 3/5. Only a week of growth. Never did get to the back lawn. Going back in the morning.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Stall every 2 feet This could work if your lawn was already short. Then you would have to mow it twice a week. And your lawn should be very small (townhouse front & back lawns only). I tried to use this with my grass being tall... and it doesn't make it 2 feet without stalling. The handle is build in a way that makes it very hard to tilt the mower up in order to try and prevent from stalling. I don't see the use of this product. Get a gas mower for cheaper or a top rated electric.. there is no in-between.

Will the new 6ah and 9ah battery's fit? Also does the mower take advantage of the new HP functionality that brushless tools have.

Hi Greg, Our new 6Ah and 9Ah batteries will fit the 16in Hybrid mower, however the lid to the battery compartment may not completely close. This will not change the performance of the mower but using the high capacity batteries you will see a significant increase in run time over a standard battery. Thank you, Ryobi Canada Team

How much is the battery and charger for this model

You must buy the Full Size Lithium 4Ah batteries, with I believe are $129 a set. I suggest buying the 18v mower combo. the mower included is not a hybrid, but you get 2 4Ah batteries, charger, trimmer and blower for $100 then this model

0. If you do not have Ryobi one+ full size 4Ah batteries, i suggest buying this mower in the combo. You wont get the hybrid mower, but the combo has everything you'll need to run the mower + a trimmer and blower

If you use two Ryobi one+ compact batteries (1.5Ah) you'll get about 1 minute of mowing. Use the Full Size 4Ah and you'll easily get 30min of full power cutting
