Rated 2 out of 5 by from Stopped working just a week after 2 year warranty was up; no help from manufacturer. Went back to gas-powered. While we liked the convenience of this electric mower and it did a great job when it worked, it broke down just a week after the warranty expired. Our lawn is on the small side, especially with a pool, large gravel driveway and a lot of landscaping, so it was definitely not overworked. The manufacturer would not offer any assistance, as some would so close to the end of the warranty period. Since it was going to cost almost as much to fix it as a new one, we reluctantly went back to a gas-powered mower, hoping that it will last longer than 2 years.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from An average product The self-propelled is great when up hill, but there is no speed control. I bought 1st one it is too fast, I bought 2nd one, it is too slow. I broke the 1st one after the blade incidentally chopped an iron pipe cover on ground. After a year or two, you need to buy a new battery. Each time you buy new battery, it come with new charger. Now I have two set of them. The battery is heavy, 45 lbs. the machine is also 45 lbs., so total is 90 lbs. With full charge, it only last less than a hour, not enough for my 0.25 acre lawn, so it is good to have 2 sets of battery. You can easily change a new blade by yourself.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Worst Lawn Mower purchase of my life. I purchased this Ryobi Lawnmower in 2010 and I already replaced the battery 4 times in the last 3 years. Replacement battery cost $129.00 at Home Depot but it's always out of stock. Replacement battery from the internet cost $200.00. Do not buy if you plan to save some money. It's good for the environment but at a cost. It would be ok if Ryobi would give a discount on battery. Even if the battery is under warranty but if Ryobi already replaced in one time that's it.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Beware of extremely poor customer service from Ryobi I bought this mower because it was self propelled and battery operated. It had all the features I was looking for. I used it three times and the battery would not charge. I took it to the warranty center and the battery was bad and also the charger. Two months later, still waiting for parts. Home Depot put me in contact with Ryobi customer service and I was told that the charger would not be available until probably the end of May (4 Months of waiting). The batteries are available, but they have to ship together. Don't make the same mistake that I made!!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from The Drive Bail snapped in the first year. No replacement available. The Drive Bail lever snapped the first summer. I looked for a replacement on line and it was always on back order. It must have been a common defect. Now it is "no longer available from manufacturer" with no alternative part to replace it. I can't believe Ryobi is still selling this model knowing it will be self propelled for a limited time. Ryobi obviously does not care about it's customers.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from 2 Dead Batteries in Under 3 Years! I initially purchased this mower in 2012, just after the 1 year mark (after warranty expired), the batter died so I bought a replacement one. Less than a year later the 2nd battery is dead too. It was great when it worked and if the batter lasted more than 9-12 months, this may have been worth it. I'm either going to get an corded electric (no battery) or gas.
