What's the length of the cord included in the package? Is it assembled?

The cord is approximately 12", the mower itself is very light and comes mostly complete. You will have to quickly assemble the handle to the base, (takes about 3-5 minutes) and once plugged in ready to go. Grass clipping bag is a quick on off, well under a minute.

I really need help with putting on the grass catcher bag.

There's a flap on the back, lift it upward and inside there is a cover for the hole from the blade area to the flap area where the bag attaches. Take that off if using the bag. Then hold the flap all the way up and insert the bag downward it will latch onto two sections that hold the bag. Remember to reinsert that cover under the flap when not using the bag

What kind of extension cord do you need to connect the lawn mower to an exterior outlet?

You can use any outdoor extension cord with minimum rating of 11 amp (ideally 14 gauge or better), as this lawn mower is 11 amp. Make sure you buy one not more than 100 ft long. Since I needed a longer cord, I went with a heavy duty (12 gauge) 100 ft cord that I use with this lawn mower and my snow blower in winter. If you intend to use it in the winter make sure you buy a good quality wire that is weather resistant. Note: lower gauge can hold more current. 12 gauge is better than 14 or 15 gauge.
