I didn't want something expensive and plush because I have 3 young children and there would almost definitely be food and drinks spilled on it from time to time. I came across this rug and I thought it would work great, it is an indoor/outdoor carpet so it is designed to take a little abuse, plus it looks great, I couldn't be happier with it. I've already had a spill or two and it's cleaned up easily. The only reason that I didn't give it 5 stars, and this is a minor detail, some of the sides are not perfectly straight, I didn't even notice this at first, my wife pointed it out to me, regardless, I am still very happy with it and look forward to years of use.

Although the colors are somewhat more muted/dull than they appear on the website, the effect is still quite attractive. Definitely best-suited for outdoor use, but it would work in a quiet corner inside, as well. I have it on my high-rise apartment balcony, where it basically fills the main floorspace. Dries quickly after a rain, hides minor dirt or soil, and pulls together a fairly tight space into a cohesive "look".

I am showing a picture of it in my family room area. However, I will be moving it outdoors when my pool cage is completed. It is really more suited to the outdoors. I imagine I'll be able to use a hose on it if it becomes soiled. I also think it will stand up to the rain. It's quite thin so I think it will dry quickly.
