What's old is new again in Safavieh's Vintage Collection of rugs inspired by the trend to recycling old carpets and over-dyeing them in brilliant colors to camouflage stains and flaws. Each rug is power loomed in Turkey of 100 percent organic viscose yarn in a low cut pile to recreate the threadbare appearance of worn vintage carpets. Yarns are deliberately dyed unevenly to add old-world character to the collection's classic Persian and Turkish designs.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This Vintage light/gray/ivory 5 ft. 1 in. by 7 ft. 7 in. area rug by Safavieh is exactly what my wife and I have been looking for to place in our living room. The rug is well-constructed with 100% organic viscose yarn and manufactured in such a manner as to present an aged, old-world appearance of a very high-end product from the past. In our opinion, this area rug adds to the early American décor of our living room. See attached pictures.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Nice Rug [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I didn't get this rug to place on a bare floor, but on top of some old carpet that had gotten some wrinkles in it. It would have been too much trouble to have to remove everything off that area of carpet to stretch it because of all the electrical equipment and wiring. I thought it easier to cut the 5 foot long wrinkles and and use heat applied carpet strips to re-seam it. The cuts didn't come out exactly perfect and I saw this area rug that was just the right size and color to cover the area. It worked out great. To take the curl out when I first unrolled it, I just rolled it back up the opposite direction and let it sit for several hours. It was perfectly flat and looks very nice. The quality seems very good also.

How soft is this rug !? I have a 4 year old that like to play in the living room area and need a soft area rug

Hi. This item is made of 100% viscose with a pile height of 0.25 of an inch. This rug is on the thinner side in terms of the pile. We suggest the Cambridge Collection or the variety of Shags under Safavieh for plushness.
