I thought I shook the container a lot but the fluid came out too watery. I wasted two bottles before I discovered I needed to take the lid off and manually mix the heavy contents at the bottom. After that the product worked great.

I purchased this when I was unable to locate a similar product by Quickcrete. I have been using the Quickcrete product for several years, but recent purchases were found to be defective. According to the manufacturer, a shipment of the product had become frozen, causing the solid and liquid components to separate. After contacting the quickcrete manufacturer, our local Home Depot removed the defective product and replaced it with the Sakrete alternative. I found no problem with the Sakrete product and will continue to use it for minor concrete repairs.

I knew I didn't want a bead protruding from the surface of the concrete, so I used a putty knife to push it into the crack. Doing so, made the appearance less than ideal. Additionally, there was shrinkage upon drying. I don't feel it's making a good seal. I kind of wish the product was thinned out so that it would fall into the small parts of the crack. But then for larger/wider parts of the crack I like the consistency as-is. It was in the upper 80s when I applied the filler and the concrete was warm to the touch. It was warm enough the bead had formed a skin on it within 2 minutes. Would I have gotten better results if I'd waited for a cooler day?

Can this be used to fill cracks in concrete counter tops (not hairline cracks, but not gigantic cracks either)?

    Asked by: Seahawks in Alberta
Using SAKRETE Concrete Crack Filler on concrete counter tops is not recommended. It has not been tested for areas with food contact. Lets assume this is a kitchen counter top, a product best suited for areas with food contact would be a wiser choice. A specialty shop may offer a product specific to your application.

    Is Sakcrete Concrete Filler "Stainable"?

    Asked by: Anonymous
Sorry, but you cannot stain or paint the Concrete Crack Filler. The surface of the material will not allow the stain to penetrate it. The material remains slightly flexible to allow for expansion and contraction of the concrete during seasonal and temperature changes.
