Rated 1 out of 5 by from Deceptive Sizing Be aware that even though the tubes are marked as 10" diameters, they still come in slightly different sizes within the same diameter (usually marked 1, 2, 3 or 4). The post hole digging company I used asked for the tubes to all be the #1 4' x 10" tubes. Although the inventory at each store showed a large number of 10" tubes, there were only a couple of the #1 tubes in store, so I had to travel around to find enough of the tubes for my project. Some collaboration needs to occur between HD and the post hole companies so that on-hand inventory matches the requirements of the diggers.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Garbage I bough this product for 3 concrete piers, surprise sprinkle of rain not much more than a drizzle. All three of them fell apart in less than 5min. Other building supplier had proper ones with a light coat of wax inside and out for the same price. Home Depot should not even be allowed to sell such junk nor would I think they would want to.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Measure the Diameter of the insert! Good materials but watch out for the different diameters! I was not aware that the 1 foot sono-tubes actually came in different diameters so that when they are shipped they can be placed inside of each other. One was just larger then the 1' diameter and it caused me to have to hand enlarge the 4' deep hole so that I can insert it! There should be some warning to ensure you measure the diameter prior to purchasing them!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Work as expected. Yes, these 10" tubes actually come in 4 sizes, so they can nest inside of each other for more efficient transport and shelf stacking. My builder requested -1 and -2 tubes (the smaller sizes), so he would use less concrete in the build. The tubes had a wax product on the inside of each tube, but not on the outside. These tubes performed as expected.

How many bags of concrete is needed for an 8"×48" tube with a 4x4 post?

If I remember it’s was 4 bags for a 4x4.  I used Quickcrete and it explains amount required on the bag. Hope that helps.
