Rated 5 out of 5 by from Stood the test of time. Last summer I used this product to fill in the cracks in our garage floor. We had everything from really tiny ones to deep, wide (+1/4") and long cracks. This product is mostly cement, so I treated it likewise. Clean up and wet the area first, then mix and apply the product. If the weather is warm, wait for afternoon hours to work in the shade or cover with damp cloth for the first hour or so. Keep spraying it with water for the first 24 hours. Any cement product becomes stronger if kept wet. For smaller cracks dilute the mix a bit so that it penetrates deep into the crack and fills it completely. 8 months later, with cars driving and stopping over the repaired floor, it is as good as day one. I'd recommend this product to anyone.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Handy bucket packaging. Exactly as advertised. Handy bucket packaging. Contained the small amount needed for my garage floor crack repair. Instructions were clear and easy to follow. Good mix for small patching. Dried within 2 hours and didn't shrink. Time will tell if it lasts over the winter.

I'd like to fill the gap around my house that is between the wall and the concrete side walk. I have never done this before so I am not sure if this is the right product. Would this product be suitable for this application?

Asked by: Tanya
How wide is the gap, between wall and walkway. Chalking would work if the space is less than 1/2". There is chalking in gray to match. Quick set mortar will break down

Should you use the concrete adhesive before applying this? I'm doing a repair of a concrete paver step.

Asked by: JAYCEE
“Yes, you may use Concrete Adhesive in conjunction with Fast Patch. Concrete Adhesive will help promote bond strength and increase repair durability. Two ways to apply Concrete Adhesive: Use as a Bond Coat: Apply SAKRETE Concrete Adhesive with a paint brush or roller. Coat the entire surface evenly, leaving no puddles. Apply the prepared patching material while the bond coat is still tacky. Use in the Repair Mix: Substitute SAKRETE Concrete Adhesive in place of water when mixing SAKRETE Concrete Mix, SAKRETE Sand Mix or SAKRETE Mortar Mix. Do not dilute the SAKRETE Concrete Adhesive before adding it to the mix. To obtain the desired consistency it may be necessary to add a slight amount of water. Add only a little at a time”

adhesive required?

We have a newly poured concrete floor, and a small area of the smooth topcoat flaked off, due to an air pocket. Would you recommend using KING concrete adhesive 3.78l with this product, or is it unnecessary?

Using King Top'n bond by itself would work best for this project.

can I use this product on my shower drywall roted out on step?

Asked by: Anonymous
yes you could. swift•set is a pre-blended, fast setting, non-shrinking, high strength cement mixture designed to facilitate fast concrete and masonry repairs easily. Use for applications where a thickness of 5 cm (2”) or less is required. Sets in minutes and may be driven on in only 1 hour. By adding gravel, swift•set can be used for repairs exceeding 5 cm (2”) thick. FEATURES & BENEFITS • sets in minutes • high strength • ready to use • non shrinking USES Ideal for fast repairs to concrete sidewalks, curbs, driveways, fl oors, steps, parking garages, loading docks, highway structures, pre-cast units and concrete pipe. May also be used to anchor posts, parking meters and guard rails. PROCEDURES Mix and substrate temperatures should be maintained between 5 and 30ºC (40 and 86ºF) for at least 24 hours prior to and 48 hours after. Surface Preparation: Surfaces to be repaired must be structurally sound and clean. Remove all delaminated or unsound concrete by chipping with a hammer and chisel or using a stiff wire brush. Clean the area to be repaired with potable water, leaving the concrete saturated but free of standing water. Some very porous concretes may require several applications of water to ensure complete saturation. Mixing: Place a small amount of swift•set in a clean container and add cold clean water until the mix is like a slurry. Brush or broom this slurry coat over dampened repair area to act as a prime. Then place remaining contents into a clean mixing container. Add approximately 156 ml (5 1/4 oz) of clean water per 1 kg (2.2 lb) or enough to achieve a workable mix (mortar consistency like putty). Do not mix longer than 1 minute. Avoid a soupy mix. Excess water reduces strength and durability and can cause cracking. In cold weather use warm water to accelerate the set. Use cold water to slow the set in hot weather. Discard any product that sets up. For repairs greater than 5 cm (2”) in depth add fi ne gravel 1.25 cm (1/2”) or smaller at a rate of 0.5 kg (1.1 lb) per 1 kg (2.2 lb) of swift•set. The gravel and swift•set should be dry mixed together before adding the water. Placing: After mixing use a trowel and apply over slurry coat while it is still wet. Force the mixture into the roughened repair area. For deep repairs, rod and tamp to eliminate voids in the patch. Level and smooth the patched area at once. Anchoring Posts and Poles: After mixing, position the post in hole and pour in mix. Align post using a level and check the vertical position. There is no need to brace, swift•set will stiffen almost immediately. Do not rework once the mix has set. Curing: Curing means maintaining proper moisture and temperature. Under normal temperatures, keep the repair damp by spraying with a fi ne mist of water or cover with a plastic sheet for at least 30 minutes. When exposed to high heat, direct hot sunlight, dampen and keep covered for at least 24 hours to protect repair from rapid drying. TECHNICAL DATA Initial Set — approximately 8-12 minutes Typical Compressive Strength 1 hour 7 MPa (1000 psi) 1 day 17 MPa (2500 psi) 7 days 34 MPa (5000 psi) PAINTING Allow 28 days before applying paint. YIELD 1 kg (2.2 lb) yields approximately 180 cm² at 2.5 cm thick (0.2 ft² x 1”).

Is this what I would use to fix my concrete steps that seems to have crumbled a bit on the front face?

By bottom steps seems to be crumbling a bit. Looks like the parging came off and the concrete below has deteriorated a bit. I'd like to repair that deteriorated face of my bottom step, and re-parge it. Is this the correct product to repair my step prior to parging it.?

i suggest using KING top'n bond. It is designed for these repairs and performs extremely well in colder climates. king-products.com
