Sakrete Traction is advertised as ‘dry’. However, it freezes solid in an unopened bag. How do I ensure I am buying a dry bag?

Thank you for your inquiry. Traction Sand is dried before packaging, then wrapped to withstand the outdoors as an unopened pallet. If it is exposed to moisture at any point after this, and then freezing conditions it can certainly freeze. Typically the store would keep these items in a dry environment so no moisture can get in and freezing can’t happen. As the manufacturer, I can only guarantee its dry when it is shipped, I am unable to guarantee its condition beyond this.
