Rated 1 out of 5 by from Poor quality, product does not last Electronic buttons do not seem to last. Lock installed within 5 years, put in a new battery, nothing lights up when buttons are pushed. Furthermore, battery life does not seem to last in winter. BE365. I do not normally write reviews, but the fact that this lock is now just an expensive keyed deadbolt is aggrevating.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Useful and bulky After a month, I am finding this lock very useful because of the keypad. It takes a bit of explaining when I am showing people how to use it because you have to turn the piece on the outside even to lock it, as opposed to it having a motor in it like others. I like the finish, no scratches or obvious fingerprints, but it is quite bulky on the inside and outside of the door.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Elements can lock you out. Be sure to have a spare key hidden outside. Internal dust or ice buildup prevents deadbold engagement. I was lucky to have garage service door unlocked, so I was able to reenter the house.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Quality lock, easy to use, reliable This is good looking lock. The buttons are high quality, easy to use with proper feedback. This lock works by allowing the user to manually unlock it after entering the correct 4 digit code. (and lock it the same way with or without a code). This approach used less energy (longer battery life) and very reliable if there is friction with the deadbolt, which on my door there can be in cold weather. Using the key is takes a little fiddling to use.

I am looking at purchasing 2 of these units. Can they be keyed to match current Schlage keys? If so, can they do it in store when you buy them?

    Asked by: scootyetec
Thank you for your questions. Many, but not all stores have the tools and trained staff to rekey these for you. You would need to check with your local store. Otherwise, any locksmith could do this before you install them.

I have two Schlage locks in my newly acquired home. What is the procedure to change the combination?

    Asked by: georgios
Here's the instruction sheet: http://www.schlage.com/content/dam/sch-us/documents/pdf/installation-manuals/237800341.pdf. You'll need the programming code. The programming code is probably on a sticker inside the lock. You'll need to partially disassemble the lock. (If I recall correctly, it's in the same compartment as the battery.) If the previous owners removed the sticker and put it on their copy of the instruction sheet, you'll need to contact them to get the programming code. Note that each lock will have its own programming code.
