Rated 4 out of 5 by from Works well with Apple HomeKit This lock was very easy to install. It communicates with my existing Apple TV so that I can control it remotely through the Apple Home (HomeKit) app or even with my voice using Siri. I've had it for quite a while now and the batteries have lasted well. The remote connection was a bit flakey at first, but Schlage released a couple of firmware updates and it has been rock solid for the last several months. I find it really useful to get push notifications when the door is locked and unlocked. The iOS app from Schlage is a bit basic and slow, but it works ok. It's the HomeKit integration that makes it great - at the end of the day I can say "Hey Siri, Good Night" and HomeKit will automatically turn off my lights and lock the door.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Doesn't work properly after 6 month I bought this lock 8 months ago. For the first 6 months the lock worked well. The alarm system is permanently ON: it means if you touch you door or handle it will be on. It won't stop the thieves, but will definitely wake up the whole family in the morning. And you can't turn it off. Yes, you can decrease sensitivity, but it will always be ON. 2 bémol. At some point, the hub that you have to buy separately in order to control the unit stopped working with the lock (the other " smart things" work properly). Android's Shlage app doesn't work properly (no WiFi, Bluetooth only), too much hassle for 200$ I have paid for that "smart lock". My advice, keep away from the until it's fixed.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from reliable and great design this is basically a great looking high quality and reliable smart lock as if apple designed it! I have had this lock for about two years now. works flawlessly. not a big fan of the iOS app tho. the app works ok but it needs major redesign. but then most of my friends who own this lock never use the sschlage app because they use the iOS home app instead. Unfortunately for giving temporary lock access or more user profiles, you have to use the Schlage app. Absolutely the best lock out there

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Not as expected. I bought this over a year ago. To be connected with our phones, I bought required wireless hardware. After minor difficulties everything was set up and running. The problem is I don't like minor difficulties, such as bad instructions or stupid application interface. Because of that lock we all had to switch to maximum security on all phones, no choice. The downside of that - all system managed to work just few weeks and then, after application update everything had to be reentered again - whole code/pin set up process again. I really don't want to waste my time for that again without any confidence. So lock is operating now as there is no wifi. I'm waiting for summer time to try to reinstall system again.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent product! I bought and installed this a year ago and now I could never go back to a plain deadlock. As it's paired with my Apple TV, I get a text message to my iPhone every time the door is locked or unlocked. I can open the app to see how the door was unlocked (Siri, key or code) and also see what code was used as you can create many and assign a name to each code. Convenient that I can see the lock status when I'm away from home and command it remotely. Just changed the batteries last week for the first time since installation. The auto locking feature is great and the optional beep when the door is opened is useful. Nothing but good things to say about this. The price is higher than others but the ability to know who and when someone is entering your home is worth the extra money.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great features I bought two of these. They are operating flawlessly both through the Schlage Sense app and Apple's HomeKit. We are very satisfied. After the initial setup using the Schlage app, there was a firmware update that needed to be installed. The update took about 15 minutes per lock. Hardware, firmware, and software installations were trouble-free.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very impressed Super easy install and well documented. Setup with app and HomeKit was dead simple. Now I can access from across the room or across the country through the Schlage app, iOS Home app or Siri. Very convenient being able to check whether the door was left locked or not and to lock it if it was unlocked. All nice to be able to provide guess codes or make up new codes for family members. If I suspect my kids have blabbed their codes, they are easily changed or removed. Had previously bought the Weiser smart lock and while it was a nice unit and had its advantages, have to buy an expensive add-on to make it remotely accessible and paying to be able to add extra codes was just not consumer friendly. The Schlage lock has a higher security rating and includes features you have to pay extra for with others.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Previous model was better I had a previous model that was MUCH quieter and the keypad were buttons you could see. This keypad is all smooth and seeing the numbers is very difficult.

Does this lock keep a log of the user codes used to unlock? I'd like to identify who it is when they come in.

Asked by: Trevinated
Yes for unlocking, the Schlage App in my iPhone gives me the name of the code I assigned that was used to unlock the door in history. I only have one code assigned but since it does remember it by name you should be good.  However, i think history on the Schlage App is only available when my phone is within Bluetooth range of the lock.  My iOS App which gives me the notifications when I am away from home only tells me if and when the door is locked and unlocked but now how like the Schlage App.  Note that the code is not required to lock the door. Notifications include locked or unlocked by thumb turn or locked by touchscreen (which can be done by pressing Schlage on the keypad).  I do not have the optional Schlage WiFi connect. The lock is paired with my iPad and iPhone.

It seems batteries keep dying every 2 to 3 weeks or the connector comes loose, is anyone else having this issue?

Asked by: Gayle
I'm not having that issue. Ensure the 'Auto Lock' is disassembled. The connector is likely damaged or not properly connected if it is coming loose.

Does this work with google home and with smart sence do I just need to have my phone in my pocket and the door unlocks

Asked by: Kelley
I am not sure about Google Home, but it works seamlessly with Apple Homekit.  Alternatively, you can just use the Schlage Home App and yes, you just have to have your phone with you in order to lock or unlock the door from anywhere in the world.  The lock does not sense the proximity of your phone and automatically unlock.  You need to hit the button on the app to unlock or lock the door.  Both Schlage Sense and Apple Homekit take a minute to update before you can control your lock.

Does this lock work with Z-Wave or Zigbee?

Asked by: BBBB
Schlage Sense uses Bluetooth technology. If you have an iOS phone Sense is compatible with HomeKit devices. If using an Android phone and a Sense wifi adapter, the lock will be compatible with Amazon Alexa or Google Home.

What is the temperature rating on this lock in cold weather? We live in a mountain resort and need this for a vacation rental property, but I still need it to work if we get sub zero temperatures.

Asked by: Michelle
This product is working well in any sub temperature! however the issue is sometimes you're loosing connectivity to apple home (if you're using apple tv) i have contacted them and they keep sending me the factory reset procedure without further advise ! Therefore expect some difficulties with remote access or pin change procedure.

When you combine this door lock with the Schlage Sense WiFi Adapter are you able then to change the door code remotely using your phone (from another city)?

Asked by: lmwd
Thank you for your question. The answer is yes. If you have a newer Android or Apple phone paired with your Sense Deadbolt using the "Schlage System" (not HomeKit), you can link the lock with the Sense Wi-Fi adapter (must be within Bluetooth distance of the lock, approx. 10m) to provide you with remote monitoring and control.
