Rated 5 out of 5 by from Works Great Just installed this tonight. Entire process took about 10 minutes and I had no problems. If you read the box before you buy it and the instructions when installing you should have no problems.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Not Reccomended I bought 5 of these locks 3 months ago. Installation.....okay, not great, but not bad. The biggest issue is they just don't like cold weather. If you buy these locks for cold climates make sure to buy a can of lock de-icer and lubricant at the same time....you will need it. Cold days it is almost impossible to get the keys into the locks, and when you do, it is almost impossible to get them out. Unbelievably frustrating. These remind me of the Taymor locks of the 70's and 80's! Just not as hard to install. 1-1/2 stars is a better score.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Just "Ok" I installed this lock today. PROS: Looks great and works CONS: Screws stripped quite easily and like the other reviewer stated, it was a pain to get out. I gave up and ended up hammering it in after the strike plate screw stripped. I also agree with the other reviewer that the deadbolt would stick but that was easily taken care of with WD40. Overall the lock looks great but it was a pain to install and I do not know if I would purchase again.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from These are good locks! The other reviewer had issues with his lock but I think there were a few reasons. First, if the big hole is not the correct size (2-1/8") the snap ring function will obviously not work, secondly I suspect his door was too thin for the lengths of the bolts which is why they would not snug down (exterior doors are typically 1-3/4"), thirdly if the guide pin on the lock that goes into the drive in portion is not rotated to the correct spot the bolt only moves out part way; had he rotated it 180* it would have worked normally, fourthly if the backset is not 2-3/8" or 2-3/4" getting the deadbolt to fit and the bolts to be straight is going to be tough. For those wondering if they are easy to re-key, the answer is yes but you need the store to do it or have your own re-key kit. Schlage has been extremely reliable for me on my jobs for 15+ years. Weiser used to be a good brand but has lost reliability over the years.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Garbage product Just finished installing this and it's so poor quality I wanted to write a review right away. First, it's supposed to snap into place so you don't have to hold it in place while putting the screws in. Would not snap into place, still had to hold it the whole time. Then the long screws that hold the reinforcement plate for the strike would not sit flush on the reinforcement plate, so the strike didn't want to sit flush. When I tried to remove the screws they were such garbage that they just completely stripped, I was only able to get one out, the other had to be drilled out. When the whole thing was finally installed, the actual deadbolt sticks half way while turning, it does not move smoothly either with the key or with the handle inside. I knew I should have gone with a Weiser lock, won't ever be buying Schlage again

Wrong product info. - this lock is not re-keyable

I got two sets and have read the boxes from head to tail. This lock set is not re-keyable. I got two sets and they share the same key. I wonder if the same model all have the same key from the manufacturer.

Thank you for your question. Schlage locksets are easily rekeyable at store level, by trained staff with the proper tools. They are not designed to be rekeyable by the consumer. Like other manufacturers (Weiser, Defiant) Schlage supplies a number of it's keyed products "keyed-alike", usually in 4's. This is done for consumer convenience so that they might purchase 2 or more locks using the same key. This information is usually located on the top of the package. Schlage uses the largest number of key cut combinations, over 75,000, thus the likelihood of finding any other locks with this same code, at the same store extremely remote. I hope this information is helpful.

Why are two different sets of lock keyed to the same key?

I bought two sets of this lock from Brampton Store, only after installation that I found they have the same keys. Are these all keyed to the same key? It will be very unsecured if it is true. Thanks
