Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good Product Works as intended. HOWEVER. The product description indicates weight is 37 pounds. THE ACTUAL weight is 32 pounds. Homedepot.ca please correct same. Unfortunately, there is no email address to contact Home Depot about this.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Burnt my lawn badly-could not repair Was recommended this product, last summer to help with overall lawn growth and to help new patches grow. Horrified to watch the perfect marks on my lawn where it had been used...all summer! Nothing could correct this disaster. Still have a huge mud patch with no grass. My lawn was actually better before I used this. I'd rate it a zero if it were possible.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from great result! does what is says on the packet, but you must be careful in the application and not to over fertilize, this could cause damage to the lawn as I've experience before but on this recent application...EXCELLENT result.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Green eh! 1st time using any Scotts product. Approx 1/2 acre of grass. I chose this for price at Depot and that 30 factor in it. Applied week of 05/14 - 05/18...2 days before it rained with a new superduper Cadilac of spreaders (Scotts lol {I needed one obviously}) and this week green is abound. Very few dandies but the back yard which didnt get done is a patchy feild of yellow. I believe the fertilizer has helped in that respect. Note: Carefull of thickness spread. This product will INDEED burn...a few spots are proof of that. Companies should take care what they "guarantee" on the pkge. Will Scotts now offer up a way to fix the burn...I doubt it. Overall tho...Im quite pleased with the results...on to the backyard this week.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Bird Feed Not sure what Scotts have done as of late; however, after using this Fertilizer my lawn had every bird in the neighbourhood visit it in the morning and evening. That really wasn't a problem but what they left behind on my deck, walkway, roof was a bit much and a pain to clean-up.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Grass Is Greener On My Side I will not bash Scotts because overall, they are good at what they do...for the most part. I have used Scotts fertilizer year after year and never got exited nor did I ever cry myself to sleep. You can tell that the fertilizer works, but I always got patchy results (color and growth). I recently noticed two of my neighbors had a really green and thick lawn. Obviously I asked them what they were doing. In terms of maintenance, nothing really different than me. The product they use is not Scotts, CIL, or any other name brand. Out of respect for Scotts, I will not mention the name of the product. Also, If I did say the name, you would just think I'm a rep trying to pimp the brand. In the end, what I am trying to say is ; This Scotts product can do the job, but there is better out there. I saw a difference, but in sections. It could be the way I applied it and if that's the case, the brand I use now is more user friendly. I did not have any burning or rust issues with this Scotts product. I added a pic of my lawn using another brand. You can clearly see the difference between What I am using vs my immediate neighbor who currently uses Scotts. Sorry Scotts, you lost this battle, but you are hard to beat when it comes to grass seed!

what is the best scotts weed and feed to use in the spring

lawn is nice in spring but seems to dry out and turn brown in june july
    Asked by: Anonymous
Best thing to use is a starter fertilizer once the weather turns a bit warmer like mid may. This gives you lawn a refresh in the nutrients it expended going into and during the winter. It has high Phosphorous which promotes good root growth and some potassium to help with cell stability so it stands up to traffic and bugs. Plus it has a good amount of Nitrogen for plant growth. Normally it is a slow release fertilizer so you can get away without applying anything for about a month and a half. After that though you need to then apply a growth fertilizer like the 30-3-0 types you see. Apply twice from june to august and then a winter fertilizer in late september and your good to go. 4 applications of fertilizer is plenty for canadian lawns. If you follow that program your grass will thank you. Just remeber the NPK rule. High P for spring, High N for summer and High K for fall. You want good root growth in spring, top growth in summer and cell stability heading into winter. Hope this helps.
