Rated 1 out of 5 by from Be Careful. It can definitely burn the lawn!! Needs to be applied carefully. Opposite to what has been guaranteed on the package that It does not burn the lawn, it burnt my lawn in patches. I took that guarantee seriously. It is misleading! There must be clear warning on the package and remedial steps in case of overapplication by the customer.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fast greening Was selling our house this spring and we had snow mold along with doggy dead spots. Applied this and the lawn grew in annoyingly thick. It went nuts with this and warmer weather. All the dead spots filled in, needed to be cut twice a week. Got compliments from buyers on our lawn.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from APPLY VERY CAREFULLY. Can 100% burn your lawn I guess I was mislead by the no-burn guarantee and applied too much and too irregularly. I genuinely thought this product was gentle but made a rookie mistake :(? Now I have to reseed and apply new soil. My yard is literally ruined for the season.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Lawn Food For My New Lawn (This review was collected as part of a promotion.) It's hard to know for sure how much this does or doesn't do because I've never planted grass before, but my lawn seems to be coming in nicely, so it must not be hurting anything.

I was sold this product to use the same time I payed down my needs when I was overseeing to fix some dead spots. After reading the reviews I’m worried the seeds won’t germinate. Can anyone let me know if I made a big mistake?

Asked by: Veee
While regular lawn fertilizer will not inhibit seed germination, and therefore can technically be applied anytime before or after seeding/sodding the lawn, it also does not help it. Phosphorus (P) is very important for seed germination and establishment. Scotts Turf Builder Lawn Food does not contain phosphorus.

I bought a turf builder, I applied the whole package (18.2kg, for 186 sq meter), I am not sure if it is too much, if over-dose the fertilizer, if it will burn or damage the soil or the lawn. I am worried about it. my package is red of 10-0-0, thank you

Asked by: Raymond
You have applied too much Turf Builder in the area. We would recommend removing as much of the dry product as possible before watering the area with 1/2" of water. Following the watering procedure every 2- 3 days for 3 weeks will lessen the damage of an over-application. Contact us if you need further information: http://tinyurl.com/kadgt3y

Bought this product and broadcast spreader. People are telling me not to use as it will burn grass. I haven't used anything yet and want to know should I use this or not ? It is August 3rd. It says four feedings; want to help lawn with health fight weeds

Asked by: Grayz
Scotts Turf Builder Lawn Fertilizer can be applied anytime during the growing season, until growth stops in the fall/winter. If day time temperatures are over 30 C water in immediately after application to avoid plant stress. Applications should be spaced 6 - 8 weeks apart during the growing season.

why does it have gluten

Asked by: onyder
Some of the amino acids in corn gluten are natural growth inhibitors which prevent root growth. In preventing root growth weed seeds that are trying to germinate and become established are unable to successfully germinate and grow.
