Rated 5 out of 5 by from Copper to PEX connector Great simple product. Does what you would expect it to. My preference over shark-bite connector when doing Copper to PEX.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Tiny bit of prep goes a long way Soak the fitting in a degreasing solution. Rinse, and using 320-400g sand paper, lightly scour the inside of the sweat side. Soak the fitting in an acid (I use 5% Acetic) for 3 seconds (ketchup works). With a a clean copper connnection, the PROPER flux, and MAP gas. I've never had an issue sweating these.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Hard to sweat! I tried sweating 3 fittings, and then gave up. I was very particular on the prep and using proper heat. Really hard to get solder to suck in. I never tested the fittings because I was never happy or trusted the sweating.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from I had to see it to believe it. I've been sweating fitting for most of my 54 years and I've never ... I had to see it to believe it. I've been sweating fitting for most of my 54 years and I've never had fittings leak like these. converting my pinholed horizontal copper runs to pex I did a trial with four of these fittings....two leaked right off the bat. I pulled these two fittings (cutting off pex clamps which is a pain in the...) cleaned pipe ends and used two fresh fittings...one leaked. once again cut pex clamps off , pulled the fitting, cleaned the pipe and used yet another fresh pex fitting.. it leaked...two more times! Map gas, plenty of flux, plenty of solder. I finally had to drive half an hour back to HD to buy a straight 1/2" sharbite connector just so i wouldn't have to worry about cutting off clamps anymore. Honestly, I thought people on here were nut or had never sweated brass fittings before...these things are unbelievable. I was worried about pinholes before...now I have three joints in my basement I have less confidence in.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Same as others - Solder does not stick I'm glad I'm not the only one having problems sweating these fittings. Of the 6 I installed, 2 started dripping afterwards. It was obvious that the solder did not get drawn into the connection while I was sweating it. It must be something about the alloy that is used in these brass sharkbite fittings, as opposed to plain copper.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from So easy, if you know what to do! I used on a few supplies and had no issues. You must heat the piece correctly in order to take solder.
