I also had trouble getting these to seal correctly onto a wall mount faucet. It may be that the cone washer is too small. I experimented with different tightness, etc. I ended up using the black plastic ones from SharkBite, item UP532Z5, that come in a bag of 5. These were purchased from the other big box hardware store. The black ones have a larger cone washer and sealed with a reasonable amount of tightness.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Drips. Agree with all the negative reviews. (I am very experienced.) I have installed 4 of these. They all dripped unless I secured the tubing completely perpendicular to the 1/2" male NPT piece to which I was connecting. This worked for two of them for the two that I used on a small hot water heater. The other two I used on a Delta shower valve to connect the hot and cold supply to the horizontal 1/2" brass NPT connections. I secured them to vertical studs a couple feet away to get that straight shot, and tightened the heck out of them to stop the remnant drip. That was in a rental house and thank goodness there was closet access, and I had not buried the fitting in a wall. A year or so later I get a call from the tenant that the plaster ceiling below was dripping and starting to crumble on the floor. I checked the pipe below the fitting and wrapped my hand around it. It took a minute for a drop to form, but that's what did it. -- By experimenting I realized that with just slight side pressure on the pipe, even the tightest of these fitting drip. And, like one of the reviewers said, the plastic nut broke. I wouldn't buy anything like this until it is redesigned, and has a brass nut that will handle tightening. BTW, I left the two on the water heater because it's at my house where I see it everyday, and it is over dirt--in case it drips. Caveat--I installed these in spring, 2016; if the problem has been solved, please let me know.

Like others I purchased two of these, both have leaked from the back side. Not sure if they test these before they leave the factory but Home Depot should stop carrying these until they can work out the problem. Wasted time and money going back to the store to find something better.

Used these fittings to connect the new Pex to the showers and every one of them leak. No matter you do, they won't seal. They leak from the back. I tightened 2 of them up so tight that the plastic nut split and broke. Highly disappointed. Gonna see if I can find another brand locally, and hopefully that will solve the problem.

Found it these 1/2" facet valve connectors easily develop a drip leak. Reinstalled several times but still drips. The black rubber seal is under sized. Installed three of these on the repair job and two out of three developed drips within 10 minutes. The two that leaked were connected to plastic threaded male connectors, the one that did not leak was connected to a metal connector. I can't trust them to hold up. Water pressure under 60 lbs. Even tried teflon tape on one attempt and plumbers pipe dope on another. Neither worked, still dripped once all the air is out of the line. Sharkbite should takes these off the market or redesign them. They will not seal and a total waste of money.

All others when under pressure water came out all around the back. Could not make tight enough to stop leak. Poor design. The rubber is not large enough and there is too much play in the cap and brass. My thoughts.
