Is this for a hose thread?

Can I use these for connecting my underground Polyethylene sprinkler lines to a solenoid valve?

You likely could but I would use plastic such as this one "Pro-Connect Poly Male Adapter - 3/4 Inch Mpt X 3/4 Inch Insert Model # INS-2731-731|Store SKU # 1000123253", and it is only 91 cents at Home Depot.
