The Shark Bite 1/2 in. Push-to-Connect x 1/4 in. Push-to-Connect Quarter-Turn Angle Stop Valve controls water flow to household plumbing fixtures. The Angle Stop Valve is used where the water pipe enters the room to allow for easy shut-off of water flow to the end fixture allowing for maintenance and repair without having to turn water off to the entire home. The Shark Bite 1/2 in. Push-to-Connect end allows you to simply push on to Copper, CPVC or PEX with no solder, clamps, unions or glue. Just insert the pipe and the stainless steel teeth bite down and grip tight, while a specially formulated O-ring compresses to create a perfect seal. Disassembly is just as fast using the simple disconnect tool so fittings and valves can be easily changed and reused. They can even be rotated after assembly for easier installation in tight spaces. The 1/4 in. Outlet end allows you to use a 1/4 in. stick of PEX Pipe and a Shark Bite 1/4 in.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The 1/2" x 1/4" quarter turn Sharkbite plumbing valve is fantastic! The Sharkbite plumbing connectors are professional and simple to use and makes plumbing so easy even the homeowner install a toilet or other plumbing projects. The internal stainless steel ball is far superior and more reliable to the rubber washer that is found in the other type of toilet shut off valves. I especially like that this valve is designed for a 1/4 turn to shut off water as opposed to the compression valve requires several full turns in order to shut the water off. This push-to-connect valve can be used on PEX,CPVC,PE-RT and copper pipe.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This review is for the Sharkbite ½ by ¼ 90 degree quarter turn stop valve. I used this valve to replace an old valve that no longer shut off the water to my toilet. I have used Sharkbite fittings before and have always had good luck with them. The valve was easy to install. Preparing the pipe is key to having install without leaks. Make sure the pipe is cut and any burr removed. Then clean and install the valve. No leaks. It shuts off fast and easy with just a quarter-turn on the knob. I really like working with Sharkbite fittings. One other plus to them is they are just as easy to remove. Highy recommend this product to everyone.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I appreciate sharkbite connectors especially when working with PEX or Copper in tight spaces that are not friendly for crimping PEX or sweating solder with Copper. In a tight space Sharkbite connectors are as close to magic as you can get, and is exactly what we plumbing DIYers needs! Compression fittings on copper can be frustrating--sharkbite beats them across the board! My two gripes are that even with the special removal tool it can be hard to get sharkbite to disengage if/when you ever want/need to replace and I also wonder if the o-ring seal on the PEX or copper pipe will eventually fail a couple of decades down the road.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from We have a defective valve I have purchase shark bite valves and couplings in the past to make transitions between our cpvc pipe and new pipe or new fixture lines. We got a valve last weekend that must have a small crack in a seam. It was impossible for me to remove to replace because of its position in front of a wall. Had to hire a plumber instead. My husband took a video of a fine spray coming out of the seam. This has been very disappointing.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Doing remodels, renovations, and rehabs, I stress quality, cost and speed. The 1/2 IN. CHROME-PLATED BRASS PUSH-TO-CONNECT X 1/4 IN. PUSH-TO-CONNECT QUARTER-TURN ANGLE STOP VALVE by SharkBite, checks all those boxes. The brass will last for years, and the heavy duty chrome plate looks great and wont chip.The push to connect takes a tenth of the time to install than sweating a valve in place would, and I have never had a properly installed SharkBite connector leak. The cost is recouped in speed and easy of installation.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I am redoing an old house and replacing all the copper with PEX. I have 3/4" PEX in my basement, but my runs to upstairs are all 1/2". I am using SharkBite for all of my connections. These 1/2" to 1/4" elbows are ideal for lines coming through a wall. I love how easy they are to install, and they are just as easy to remove. The simple quarter-turn ball valve (see pics) knob makes turning Off instantaneous, and when turning On, I no longer have to turn and turn and wounder if it is fully On?

They are easy to get to work right with a minimum of tools and seem to be holding up well for me. I like the 90 degree shut off feature on these. There is no rubber washer to come apart over time and it is either on or off in a quarter of a turn. Many times I have had trouble with the old rubber washers deteriorating to the point where the water will not shut off and I do not anticipate having this happen with this valve.

Can this fitting be used to connect the ice maker from polybutylene pipe to copper line?

YES. It works for a 1/4" poly line from fridge as well as a 1/4" copper line from fridge. Always leak check of course although after using several dozen different Sharkbites over the years, I've only had one 1/2" t-connector leak.
