Rated 5 out of 5 by from Easy to use Exactly what I needed to install my new water heater. I have 1/2" copper pipe leading into and out of the water heater and this was a simple and cost effective way to transition from the 3/4" nipples on the water heater to my 1/2" pipe.

However, they have limited flexibility and application can be tricky. Bend too much they will kink and may cause the push fitting to leak. Prep can be fussy, and I had difficulty pushing them fully on. They're a great option in properly fitting applications. Be nice if there were more variety of lengths available and male connecter options for opposite end.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Failed after 9 months We installed a new water heater and the plumber used the sharkbite quick connectors. We needed to turn the temperature up on the water heater to 140° so that it would flow through the house. The shark bite connection then began to fail and sent small rubber pieces throughout the water system. We replaced both of the shark bites with straight copper connections.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Rubber in my water I got a new water heater installed by a plumber 8 months ago and he used this shark bite hose. This hose is already breaking down. I replaced my shower head filter today and found large deposits of rubber. Other people here claimed years of use before this issue would arise and some said this company fixed the issue in 2013. It’s 2021 and I can tell you this issue is not fixed and is now leaving rubber residue on my family when they shower and on the dishes I wash!
