Can I use these when I drill a hole through a joist, so I can run PEX through it? If so, what size should the hole be?
Asked by: MW
Yes you can run any type pipe thru these assuming you purchase the units that match the pipe size. The hole in the joist should be at least 1/8” larger then the O.D.of the pipe. Remember- there are limits as to where, and how large a hole you can drill in a given joist. In general best to center your hole between the upper cross sectional half point and the next vertical or 3/4 point from the bottom of the member. Never notch the bottom of a member, and also note that the tangential edge of the drill hole should never be within an 1” of the edge of the hoist or member.

Why are these more expensive then the 1 inch clamps? Don't they come the same to a package??

Asked by: ejm
The 1" Suspension clamp found online is actually a Zurn product, not a SharkBite product. It says they are $2.21 each, instead of a 10 pack.
