    Overview

    Model # 23808-0045 Store SKU # 1001544612

Cash Acme pressure regulating valves are designed to reduce incoming water pressure to a safe pressure to protect plumbing components. They also help to prevent pressure surges from entering the household from the main line. High pressure can cause damage to appliances and plumbing. A pressure regulator should be installed after the main line to help protect plumbing. The Cash Acme EB-45 is a half-cartridge based pressure reducing and regulating valve with a lead free bronze body. The valve resembles traditional regulators with a spring chamber and an adjusting screw but offers the high performance of a cartridge based valve. Fitted with the SharkBite Connection system the EB-45 can be installed using a push-to-connect connection that can be installed on any combination of Copper, CPVC, or PEX Pipe.

    1. Solid lead-free bronze construction
    1. Factory set to regulate flow to a safe 45 psi, adjustable from 10 to 70 psi
    1. Direct SharkBite connections allow for a push-fit connection on any combination of copper, CPVC, PEX

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Quick install Installed this with a friend last week because my water pressure averaged 85-100psi! We installed it near my meter on a vertical section of copper pipe. We followed the directions exactly. When I repressurized the system, one of the ends started popping off. We shut down system again and reinserted the pipe, gave it a few twists and repressurized (slower this time). It has been holding well since. I recommend this.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent pressure regulating valve This Cash Acme 3/4 inch pressure regulating valve with Sharkbite connections is compact and easy to install. It is an excellent value and is also of high quality with brass construction and an adjustable regulator to set at your desired pressure or you can leave it set at the 45psi factory settling. I'm installing it to solve a problem with inconsistent city water pressure and to protect my plumbing system and water heater. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Rated 5 out of 5 by from So Easy to Install - Time Saver! Old school plumbing can be intimidating. Thanks to SharkBite gone are the days of sweating copper, using flux, soder and a torch. Which makes me very happy! I've used these 3/4" Push-Fit Pressure Regulating Valves by SharkBite in 4 home renovations last year. I replaced all the copper supply lines with PEX, pro-pex expansion fittings and SharkBite connectors. Installing this regulating valve was as simple as cutting the pex square and then inserting the pex until you feel the grab. Done. I like to tug the pipe in reverse to set the teeth of the SharkBite. That tug gives me confidence it's seated correctly. I also love how SharkBites can swivel around your pipe. Copper is rigid which can create some real binds. The swivel allows me to rotate the regulating valve for easier access in tight areas. If you make a mistake in your fittings, you can remove and re-use SharkBite fittings from the pipe easily with a SharkBite removal tool. That's not the case with copper. Adjusting the water pressure was a breeze. This area had water pressure exceeding 90 PSI. I used a water pressure gauge on one of the washer's laundry valves and then adjusted the valve on the pressure regulator with a basic wrench until it dropped to 50 PSI. The pressure regulator body doesn't have any indicators of the PSI so you absolutely need a separate gauge to calibrate the pressure. My #1 go-to plumbing product are SharkBites. Yes, they cost more but they're priceless compared to the hassle factor and time savings. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Rated 5 out of 5 by from QUICK FIX SharkBite is the homeowner's friend! While I have experience sweating copper pipe, This product makes home repairs much easier. When plumber is needed, I always will say go with the expert. However, if the repair is simple, look into using SharkBite. The pressure reducing valve on my boiler failed and start to leak do to hard water on the file water line coming into the boiler. This product was easy to install. The entire process of cutting the copper pipe and install the new pressure reducing valve took all of 20 minutes. As long you have space to move the copper pipes. (flexibility of pipes is a big key) The product does cost more than a regular reducer, but the ease and time savings more than made up the extra cost for me. As for setting the pressure is different story there is no gauge to reference i had to look on boiler gauge to set it no more than 20 PSI which is inconvenient if you do not have gauge you have to ges. REMEMBER THIS UNITE IS LED FREE AND IT CAN BE USE WITH DRINKING WATER [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Rated 4 out of 5 by from easy The Shark Bite water pressure regulator is a very simple pressure regulator to install. It took me about 10-15 minutes to install. I was skeptical at first but it proved me wrong. I had no leaks and no problems. Make sure you have the direction of the water flow going in the correct direction. One of the good features of this unit is it will work on different types of pipe (copper, cpvc, pex). [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Easy Installation and Setup As a part whole house plumbing system updating, I have chosen to regulate our city water supply with the SharkBite EB-45 ¾” bronze direct push-fit x push-fit pressure regulator. Once I identified a suitable location to install the pressure regulator (PR,) I measured and marked the location where the pipe was to be removed. Next, I turned off my water supply, bleed-off the existing water pressure from the system, closed nearby shut-off valves to minimize water loss, and then made my cuts on the plumbing. Although, most of my updated plumbing is PEX, I chose to use ¾” copper from my meter to the PR valve, and my whole house water filter. When installing the PR valve, make sure your pipes are clean and bur free. Firmly push to fit the connections. Using a pressure gauge (Not supplied) set your desire pressure, and you’re done! Rated 5 out of 5 by from Super Easy To Install This water pressure regulator is super easy to install. The Shark Bite connectors do not require solder or threaded pipe connections, which makes installation a breeze. Most likely, your old water pressure regulator had either threaded connectors or a union. You will need to remove the old parts and have only 3/4" pipe where the regulator will be. This water pressure regulator is 4 1/2' from end to end and 1" of pipe will go into the connector, so the opening in the pipe will need to be 2 1/2" total. When I removed my old regulator, there was a lot more than 2 1/2"between the two pipes. I purchased an additional 3/4" Shark Bite Coupler and I used a left over piece of 3/4" copper pipe I had sitting around. I installed the coupler to the existing pipe, then I added enough 3/4" copper pipe to make the space between 2 1/2". When installing the new regulator, make sure the inside edge of the pipe is smooth and there isn't any lip of metal. Also, when installing the new regulator, make sure the arrow (on the body of the regulator) points in the direction of water flow. Make sure you push the connector on to the pipe a full inch (I mark the pipe with a line). After your new regulator is installed, you'll need to adjust the water pressure and check for leaks. I have a water pressure gauge, which attaches to a hose bib. There are others out there, but this one is easy to install and isn't very expensive. To adjust the water pressure, turn the lock nut to the left (loosen). I recommend turning it all the way out. Then either tighten the bolt (increase pressure) ore loosen (lower pressure). When your water pressure is set to where you want it, tighten the lock nut. Check for leaks and if there aren't any, you're done! The easiest pressure regulator job you'll ever do! Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Regulator Most regulators are either in ones garage or most likely in the crawl space of the home. Crawl spaces can be very tight sometimes. I liked using this product in the crawl space because it took very minimal effort to install. The house had copper water lines, so I just turned the water off. Cut the line in two places and pushed the new valve on. I was done. Took me more time to crawl into the crawl space than it did to install the product.
