Is this sutable for connecting hot water baseboard heating?

I have an existing hot water baseboard system, where I am replacing a heating element and it would make things much simpler if I could use this flexible tubing to connect it to the old copper in the basement. Any issues doing this?
Asked by: pap
No. You need Oxygen Barrier Radiant Heating PEX Pipe. Temperature rating is more suitable for heating applications.

whats the difference between the red and blue pex pipe

Asked by: timothy
Their identical in quality and performance. The color difference is strictly for quickly differentiating between hot and cold water lines. The standard color code in this country, and many other countries has Blue associated with cold water, and red is associated with hot water. The pex white pipe may be used where you intend to paint over the pipe, and therefore color pipes would not be of any use. White pipe is also used as a common generic pipe for hot or cold applications you may be repairing, and prefer not to use colored (red or blue) pipe.

What other things do I need to cople the pex pipe?

Asked by: Carl
Carl, You will need a coupling to join to pieces of PEX Pipe. You can buy a SharkBite Push-to-Connect Coupling (Model #U016LFA) to join this PEX, SharkBite fittings require no tool. Another option is you can purchase a Brass (UC016LFA) or Plastic (UP016A) Barb Coupling and secure with a Stainless Steel PEX Clamp (UC955A) and Clamp Tool (23081), or a Copper Crimp Ring (23103CP25) and Crimp Tool (23251). If you have additional questions or need advice please feel free to give us a call at 1-877-400-4242. Thanks!

Asked by: john
Hi John, PEX has a 24 hour UV rating; therefore, PEX must be insulated with pipe wrap or foam insulation to protect from UV rays.
