SharkBite ProLock fittings are a versatile and innovative full-flow Push-to-Connect fitting, desinged and engineered for use with PEX, copper, CPVC, PE-RT & HDPE Pipe. The intuitive design makes for one of the simplest and most dependable fittings on the market. No tools are required to make a connection. They use a collet with stainless steel teeth that grips the pipe when fully inserted and an EPDM O-Ring to provide a permanent, leak-proof seal. The Twist-to-lock feature ensures maximum security. When twisted into place with indicator arrows aligned, the locking cap locks the pipe in place. Removing the fitting is even easier with no special tools required, simply twist the cap counterclockwise to unlock then depress collet against the fitting to remove from pipe. SharkBite Max push-to-connect fittings are the fastest way to connect PEX, copper, CPVC, or PE-RT pipe. A newly designed stainless steel collet retainer delivers additional strength and durability and provides a 400 psi pressure rating. SharkBite Max fittings don't require a PEX tube liner, and a re-engineered body allows you to insert the pipe using less force and greater ease. No soldering, clamps, unions, glue, or special tools required. After inserting the pipe, stainless steel teeth bite down and grip the pipe tightly while a specially formulated O-ring compresses around the pipe to create a watertight seal. The fitting can be rotated after installation for quick adjustments, and removing the fitting is just as fast with a disconnect tool, allowing fittings and valves to be changed or reused.
