SharkBite Max push-to-connect fittings are the fastest way to connect PEX, copper, CPVC, or PE-RT pipe. A newly designed stainless steel collet retainer delivers additional strength and durability and provides a 250 psi pressure rating. SharkBite Max fittings don't require a PEX tube liner, and a re-engineered body allows you to insert the pipe using less force and greater ease. No soldering, clamps, unions, glue, or special tools required. After inserting the pipe, stainless steel teeth bite down and grip the pipe tightly while a specially formulated O-ring compresses around the pipe to create a watertight seal. The fitting can be rotated after installation for quick adjustments, and removing the fitting is just as fast with a disconnect tool, allowing fittings and valves to be changed or reused.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great product I used this fitting for the first time when renovating my bathroom 6 months ago and I could not have been more impressed. Simply cut the pipe, deburr it, and slide this on. This gave me peace of mind to continue my project while allowing my family to continue to use the bathroom. Very handy to have in the home if ever working on the plumbing.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great alternative to soldering The Sharkbite connectors are great alternatives to soldering. I am using them for temporary solutions on both coper and PEX tubing and they work great. I have now started to stay away from soldering when ever possible.

How do you remove/ cut pipe? I am assuming they are not reusable

Asked by: Eduard
They are reusable. They come with a sharkbite removal clip ( it's orange) it pushes against the plastic seal and releases the cap

do you need to clean the pipe (like you would for soldering) before installing this end cap?

Asked by: Kermy
Thanks for the inquiry. If you are using copper pipe, then yes, the copper needs to be cut straight and free of any sharp burrs or imperfections. If the pipe is PEX, it is a good practice to follow the same procedure. Please visit www.sharkbite.com for detailed instructions on how to install our fittings. Thanks.
