Rated 1 out of 5 by from Garbage!!!! Don't buy it!!!! not worth the price It's been a year now that we have this shelter.. paid $798.00 and now it's at $598.. $200 cheaper... First it was a huge pain to assemble. Instructions are not really easy to understand. It took 2 days to assemble and we were 3 adults. Very disappointed in the quality of the thickness of the material.. it's ripped at a couple of places and this winter, all the roof sunk with the snow... and we were removing regularly. It's changed color from the sun and the tarp has started to disintegrate this summer.. pretty sure it's not going to last the winter. Anyhow not worth the price we paid and very disappointed... I see a lot of bad reviews for this shelter.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Poor quality and poor business practices I first put this shlter up in the fall of 2019 and, after a couple months, the cover was leaking. Basically, the cover material was letting water through, like it was somewhat porous. After a bit of back and forth with ShelterLogic I got the option to receive a new cover that would "get me through the warranty period" or pay a few hundred dollars for an upgraded cover. Moral of the story, they know their covers are garbage and will try to up sell you on your warranty claim. Sure enough my replacement cover is leaking less than a year after I installed it, but more than a year since I BOUGHT (not erected) the shelter - so kudos guys, job well done! Planned obsolescence at it's finest. So, don't buy one of these shelters thinking you are buying a waterproof shelter that will last a few years - you maybe get a few months and that's it. ShelterLogic ought to be subject to dumping fees for all the covers that have and will find their way into our landfills. Maybe I'll bring that up with my MLA.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from JUMK, junk, NOT recomended I am in the process of assembling this piece of junk and I recommend a large hammer, drill and a book on new cuss words. This is the fifth portable garage I have assembled it is the worst. The instructions are not adequate, missing part numbers. Parts that don't fit. And a cover material that is likely to last the winter. I think I will quit trying to assemble and take it to the dump.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Needs improvement This 20' shelter does not include all the anchors you will need to secure it to the ground they have to be bought separately. The design needs improvement because after putting the metal frame together, you then need to undo and redo a lot of the connections in order to weave them through the canvas top/sides. Not impressed with the quality of the canvas either it looks a lot thicker in the photo but is really very thin and tears easily around the metal frame. Product packaging also needs improvement because all the bolts are put in a single bag. 80 some bolts, half of which are 1/8" shorter than the rest, all mixed in a single bag. Get ready to spend the first 2 hours just sorting bolts and sorting pieces of the frame. Finally the door does not work as well as pictured. It is just a big flap with zippers on either side and to keep fully open you have to bunch it up and tuck it in somewhere.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from poor quality, bad warranty Very expensive for a product that will last a little more than 2 years and then the corners started to fray. I should have know when I found out there is only a 1 year warranty, what a joke! I will be putting the replacement cost towards a shed that will last more than 2 years!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Really an (almost) Instant Garage I qualify the instant garage with "almost" because it did take about 4 hours to assemble, although most was done alone. The only step I needed help with was pulling the rather large cover over the railings. The instructions were in the form of pictographs (no words), but once you get their meanings they are easy to follow. The engineering was spot on with every part fitting perfectly.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Good construction This shelter is a good solid design, I installed it in approx. 8 hours, mainly alone, with some help for the frame and to pull the cover over the frame.Remember this is a round top shelter. Do not be fooled by the 10 ft width, it is 7' 6" wide at the top bar. I park a Honda CRV in it and it is hard to enter the car. I would recommend a 12' wide unit or a straight wall unit.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Auto shelter Not good for a SUV or a pickup to small only good for a small car. Had to filed every drilled hole to be able to put the poles together. It’s 10 foot wide at the bottom but Halfway up you only have 8 foot we had to put the SUV mirrors in to be able to get in. Got rid of it and purchased a 12 foot wide shelter logic to be able to fit an SUV.

Can this unit be mounted to a solid footing or founation 6 inches above ground level?

Asked by: fezzywig
From what I can tell you is yes but make sure it's anchored down to the footing or foundation. From my experience with this unit, if you don't have it anchored down properly you might find it not there one day. Other then that you shouldn't have any problems. Good Luck.

Does it open on both ends? I have a shop behind where I will be putting this, and want to be able to pass through it from both ends at times...

Asked by: Matt J
This model does not come with the ability to open at each end, but you can leave the back panel off and it would easily work as a pass through. One of my neighbors did just that.

How many doors, Can you drive all the way through?

Asked by: poloplane
To who may be concerned. with this shelter it would be difficult to drive through but with some ingenuity you could make it work. The front flap has a zipper on both sides and can be secure about 7 plus ft. off ground. The rear flap is made to be secure even though and made mine to lift up on a corner so i can use it as a rear door way. It can be done you just have to think it through. ...Alvin

Hi there, I live in Ottawa, Canada where the winter is quite tough here. I'm wondering if this shelter is suitable for winter here. Can it handle heavy snow?

Asked by: June
It won’t handle the snow weight you have to keep it cleared off all the time. I also found it doesn’t handle bright sun very well the tarp material shrinks and tightens up and splits from the heat

Just curious why Home Depot Canada does not offer the ShelterLogic shelter 10' X 8' x 20' with either heavy Duty or Ultra Duty covers that is wind and snow rated. You'd think they would offer an item in Canada that could handle our winters

Asked by: Mitch811
Hi Mitch, We do offer a shelter very similar in size with upgraded covers and with a wind and snow rating. Home Depot does not offer these shelters because they are custom made. To discuss in more detail feel free to call us at 1-800-932-9344. Thank you
