Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect size trash can We love this trashcan. It is a little smaller than your average tall kitchen can, but it is large enough to last a few days before emptying. It comes with 30L trash bags which you can reorder online for home delivery. We have been using our standard 13 gallon bags without issues. It has an inner core which comes out to help remove the trash bag. No hang ups or snags, the bag comes out super easy. The finish does not show finger prints, so it looks clean all the time. Lastly, the lid has a soft dampened closing motion, so it doesn't make a sound when using it. Overall, we are very pleased with this item, and would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a stylish trashcan.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great trash can, looks great, special bags are expensive... This is my second simplehuman trash can. The first worked well for a lot of years but finally the salt water air plus a couple of years got to it, and it was time to replace it. The can looks great, the new finish really does seem to resist fingerprints. The can is very narrow, and like all simplehuman cans uses special bags for a clean exterior look (no bag showing)... I haven't tried using any other bags, but I'm sure it would be possible. 100 bags runs around $24-25, just FYI. It has a slow close mechanism which is nice. The main thing to look out for is cleaning the inside of the lid if it gets too full.

The ability to lift the inner can up and rest it tilting forward while changing the bag is such a nice feature. Keeps things mess free and allows our kids to very successfully help with garbage duties! We have only had the garbage can for about a month, but bought it after going through many cans which did not hold up or became disgusting. My parents have had this can for YEARS!! Glad we finally invested just a little bit more into a garbage can that will last! Thank you Simplehuman for making the little things in life just a little easier!

I hated my old trashcan and I kept putting off getting around to get one that I wanted. Finally, I just put the entire trashcan and trash bag in the garbage can so I would be forced to buy what I wanted/needed. That worked. I searched all the big box stores and if they featured what I wanted, they didn't have it stock I'm still a hands on kind of guy that needs to touch and exam the item in action. Found it. This is just what I wanted. It does not take up much room. Holds a lot. It may seem pricy to some, but I've seen less for more money. I feel confident that is a good investment.

Our prior trash can used a flimsy plastic ring to secure bags, which often resulted in spilled garbage. This can has a complete secondary can that lifts out of the container. The pedal operates smoothly with a soft close feature. We use standard garbage bags that are purchased in bulk at big box retailers. Installing them takes a little extra work, but, the work fine.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Queen of trash cans I really like this trash can. Never having used anything but a cheap plastic one, I didn't realize how much better a trash can could be. The foot pedal is so handy when your hands are full of egg shells. And how the lid comes down softly... its one of those things you could live without, but having it makes life just a little nicer. Ideally you should use their trash bags, and I plan to, as soon as I use up my old store brand bags. They don't fit as neatly, but with a little tugging and folding and a tiny piece of duck tape to hold it flat they do work.

It looks and works as well as it did when I got it. I highly recommend this brand. I don’t use the proprietary bags that the manufacturer sells. I use ordinary 30 gallon Glad Flex bags. I tuck the bags into the hole in the back of the inside receptacle and the bags are invisible from the outside. There is a learning curve because you have to learn to gather up the Glad Bag slack, they’re not fitted like the Simple Human bags, before tucking it in a bunch into the hole. Once you’ve done it a few times it will be second nature. I wouldn’t hestitate to recommend this can. If it breaks, you’ll find me at HD ready to buy another one!

what trash liners are used for this trash can

Subject: 30 liter Finger-print proof stainless steel round step-on trash can. Purchased 3 pieces- 2 small and one 30 liter. Regulat 30 liter[7-8 gallon] liners will not work

The liner is as additional bin inside. The unit comes with a sample pack of 10 bags, however you can use any store bought garbage bags.

Does the “new” metal foot pedal actually last as long as the old spastic one? Have had one for 5 years with a plastic pedal that recently just snapped off. Sure wasn’t 10 years like the warranty claims. Guess I have to try to recycle since nobody keeps receipts for a garbage can for 5 years.

liner

I stupidly got the two inner liners stuck together and now I can't separate them. I don't mean the outer, moving metal shell nor the plastic bags. I mean the plain plastic cylindrical liner in the middle. Is there a way to separate them or do I need to buy a new liner?
