The FBFZ flat fence bracket makes the connection between rails and posts simple and strong. Its sleek design offers a more concealed look. The FBFZ eliminates the need for toenailing or screwing. The flat-plate design is a new addition to the fence bracket line and is specially designed to both ease installation and show less metal. New, bendable tabs on each end of the bracket allow for slight adjustment when wood rails are cut too short and provide a secure connection when wood expands and contracts.

  1. In addition to fence-rail connections, the FBFZ can also be used for handrail assemblies for porches and decks that are no more than 30 in. above ground level
  1. Flexible fastener holes can accommodate multiple types, including nails and Strong-Drive SD Connector screws
  1. Made from 18 gauge steel
  1. ZMAX galvanization offers extra corrosion resistance for exterior and treated-wood applications
  1. Install with #9 x 1-1/2 in. Strong-Drive SD Connector screws or 10d x 1-1/2 in. nails

If you use the recommended #9 screws, does the head of the screws not cause the bracket to be raised away from the fence? How do you get the plate to sit flush against the fence post?

Hey Jan H, Ricardo here. The FBFZ bracket is designed to be attached to the fence railing first, then attached to the fence post. The "tabs" that attach to the fence post can be bent to accommodate for the offset that is caused by the screws attaching the fence rail.
