If you don't want it to be seen in a deck through gaps, for example, then it is perfect for 2x6.

I am refurbishing my floating dock which is located on the Atlantic Intracoastal Waterway. Are these brackets suitable for a marine environment?
Asked by: StonoJoe
You would probably have to replace them in 5-10 years and look at them as they rust. If you want the real thing, look for stainless steel ones. Make sure that the angles/brackets are made of 304 stainless aka 18/8 to get the best corrosion resistance.

Can 2 of these be used as a substitute for a joist hanger?
Asked by: hsilva
I have used these many times on an inside corner but I wouldn’t recommend using them as a standard joist hanger. They have nothing supporting the joist from underneath and I doubt using them in that manor would pass any kind of building code.
