Earlier post stated that the bracket is not designed to support free standing post. What does free standing means? I want to use them to support four 6x8 feet fence post panel. I have 4 fence panels and can I use them. Are they strong enough?

Asked by: Roy K
Hi, Thank you for your question, The vendor have confirmed that RCPS post bases do not provide adequate resistance to prevent post rotation about its base and therefore not recommended for support of posts that are not laterally restrained at the top. For example of posts not laterally restrained at the top would be fence posts and free-standing carports without diagonal braces. Also, vendor have recommended to do not use any of their post bases for a typical fence post connection to a round concrete pier.

Can I use this as a fence post base?

Asked by: Noah
Hi Noah, RCPS is not designed to support a free-standing fence post. We do not manufacture post bases that would provide sufficient stiffness for fence application to prevent post rotation about its base. Regards, Genady
