Post worked as intended - used it to support string and sconce lights on my deck and these were extra sturdy and looks like the rest of the deck railing so it fit right in (post was attached to the fascia joists along the outside of the deck). Finish was somewhat marred, not noticeable unless you are looking for it, but couldn't tell if it happened in shipping or when I was moving the posts around. Home Depot did not have a minimum order requirement for these posts, a big deal when you only need 2! One suggestion: provide the option to order additional post caps. With my post attachment method, I needed a cap for the top and the bottom.

X 6 ft. horizontal fence for patio privacy, using cedar deck boards. The combination of the wood grain with the black metal posts, channels and caps is aesthetically pleasing. Solid quality and simplicity in design.

For a 6' h fence you say install 9' posts 3' in ground = 64" above ground, not adequate as per your remarks of 76" above ground for 72" h fence. Would you then say dig down 2' and bury sona tubes & pour cement to be 12" above ground? or use 10' posts?

    Asked by: Wade
I have the same question. I think the best way is to use 10' (120") post, bury 44" underground with concrete and leave the rest of 76" above the ground. A 9' post is not enough to me. Also the 9' post is not standard 108" long, it is 100" in their specification which can not used for the 6' high fence in Canada where at least 3 feet underground is required. It is confusing without being carefully calculated.

would this post be strong enough to anchor a corner of a medium to small sun sail ?

    Asked by: Barry
The fence posts were designed, manufactured, and tested as fence posts. The posts are 3" x 3" x 1/8" thick wall 6005A Aluminum alloy. We are unable to recommend any other use than to be used for Slipfence fence posts.

Could these posts be slipped over existing chain link fence posts?

    Asked by: Maegs
This is not recommended. The posts are meant to be sunk into concrete on their own.
