Rated 4 out of 5 by from Snow-Joe Electric Snow Blower The performance of this machine is beyond expectations. I bought it to clear a large deck with a glass front railing. To lift spades full of wet snow waist-high and dump it over the railing is really very hard work at any age and I am 82! Admittedly I had reservations about this little snowblower's ability to throw the stuff over the railing but it performed really well, blowing the snow at least 6ft. high. I gave it 4 stars because of some 'iffy' design features (1) The power cord should be all-weather and remain flexible. (2) There is no means of securing the extension cord securely (preferably on the left side) so it tends to get in the way.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fantastic snowblower Used my snow blower for the first time today. Snow was quite heavy and the drifts were 2 ft high in places and this snow blower ate through it with no problem. Very impressed with this product.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Could not believe it Like many folks shopping around for a snow blower, i had my reservations. Seriously. But it was on sale and the motor seemed big enough for what we needed. It arrived 2 days ago. Last night and this morning it was snowing heavy slush. I didn't think it could handle it because I shovelled a bit and it was heavy. So i stopped and did the sidewalk and a path from our front steps. I had brought it to the garage to store for another time when there was fluffier snow accumulation. Not this wet heavy stuff. But then I thought. What the heck. This is a test. It is a corded unit, so handling of the cord would be something to be careful about and cumbersome. I would not take off a star for this. I could not believe how it handled today's (Nov16-18) wet heavy slushy snow with ease. I was shocked. We have a laneway between the homes and it's quite a bit of effort to push the snow front or back. Especially when it's slush. It gets very heavy. The unit itself has auger blades that are made of metal with a rubber piece that mounts directly on to it. Only the rubber blades ever come close to the driveway or deck surface. Not the metal part. Some other models I saw have a slightly different design where the blade is completely rubber and only the ends and middle are bolted to the auger shaft. The only negative i can point out is that the front light only comes on when the unit is in operation. They have other units where the light is higher up and has it's own switch and it remains on when the unit is plugged in. This also has it's own switch. I thought it would stay on and I asked this question to the support chat and they said it does, but it does not, unless you have the lever going. Would be nice if it was on regardless if the auger is going or not. This would be handy on evening use. I also noticed a slight burning smell. Not sure what the source was from on the unit, but the unit was brand new and could be from first time use? There was no noticeable change in the performance. The tool to clear clogged snow is a nice addition that is way safer than using your fingers. Comparable models on competitors don't have this. Especially at this price point. It's small enough that we plan to bring this to the cottage to help us make the shovelling jobs easier, such as clear the snow to get to the front door after the snow plow contractor clears the driveway. And clear the deck & patio. Best pro is the price. I got it on sale about 1/3 the price of other brands. It did the job. And it did it well. Very well.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Electric Snow Blower Power? As a first time buyer of an electric snow blower, I was suitably impressed with its power and ease of operation. Having the light with the "on/off" switch made it easier to see in dim afternoon light. On the box, it states that using the machine is as easy as vacuuming. True, but how many of us really like to vacuum anyways? For my needs, using a 50 foot extension cord was adequate, and was better than the hassels of a 100 foot cord. My only concern with the unit, is that I find that I have to bend my back using the machine, since I am a tall person. Having an extendable handle would be great!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Fantastic little beast!! I’m very happy with this purchase! We have a large deck and walkways around our property, and this little guy is fantastic! I’ve also done my double driveway which is approximately 60 ft long 3 times, surprisingly pushing even compacted snow that the city plow added after a big snowfall. It takes longer to get it done compared to the big gas blowers but it’s a powerful little beast! Takes little room in my garage, requires no significant maintenance and is light weight enough to go everywhere I need it to go. So far, we’ve only gotten fluffy snow this year so I’m unsure how well it does with wet snow... Four stars because the extension cord does take a bit of getting used to and it’s not quite heavy enough to scrape right down to the concrete on my driveway but I will give this snow joe my thumbs up for sure.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Decent, but beware the plug I've used it once this winter since our snowfall hasn't been that much lately, but right away when trying to plug it in, there's a round shaped cover on the plug. My extension cord had a ground connector so the shape is not round. Therefore i had to use pliers to change the shape of the round cover. That concerned me because if i didn't like the blower, this might be cause for it not being accepted for return. Since the round cover is pretty stiff, the plug can't be tight so it would occasionally lose connection. Also this problem was expected: having to worry about the cord while using the machine. But the snow throwing aspect, it did the job. I'd have to use it more often to be more content with it, but that one time i used it it did the job.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good quality, sturdy and works well Purchased this to replace an older version I had. There have been some design improvements on the chute. It is hard to turn and move because it clicks into each position but the old version would just swivel and eventually go out of position. This one also has a small shovel/scoop to help clear the snow out of the chute if needed. It feels sturdy and from the one time I have used it so far, it did a pretty decent job in throwing the snow. This one feels like it’s a little heavier than my old one and I’m not sure yet if I would recommend it for my mom. I have no issues with it but she seems to find the old one (I had bought 2 last time - one for me and one for her) is a bit heavy and to me this one is just a little heavier than the older slightly smaller version.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Not built with Manitoba winters in mind The first time I used it was when there was 5 cm / 2in wet snow. That day was windy and since it doesn't come with any type of shield, I kept getting hit with the blowing snow. With the wet snow, it could only shoot just a little over one meter/ 4 or 5 feet. It took as much time using the snow joe as it would with a shovel. I have a small yard and driveway and the battery ran out before I finished the job. It needed to be recharged. On the plus side, the machine was very quiet, easy to handle and my back felt great.
