Rated 4 out of 5 by from fairly compact Assembly took about two minutes, the only thing that required assembly was the head and brace a couple screws. Works great for single story houses. Mine is a ranch with barely any pitch and to be honest can't see doing a lot more then that. Since I got it I used it once and that was mostly to humor myself, of course now that I say this this winter will be bad. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Snow Job I used this roof rake, this past Winter, on my sister-in-law's 8' x 21' wood shed, attached to her garage. The shed has a 5/12 pitch. She got about 12" of snow & it is too much weight for her corrugated metal roofing. Although this roof rake has lockable extensions that reach up to 21', I only needed about half that to reach the top of her shed roof. I laid the roof rake at the top & let the weight of the rake & the angle of the rake blade, bite down into the snow as I drew it towards me. With very little effort, I was able to draw A great quantity of snow off of the roof, with each pass. I cleared the shed roof of snow in minutes. This is a high quality product, that will save you time, energy & is a lot safer than getting up on a snow covered roof. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Rated 1 out of 5 by from PLASTIC BRITTLE Ordered 2 last year, the first one was missing parts, the second one was broken before I even took it out of the box. Home Depot has a great return policy though. Did not try for third.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Great idea, poorly designed Great idea, poorly designed. Within 5 minutes of using this, it broke. The support brackets get screwed into the plastic rake part. I suppose if it was fluffy snow, it would have worked better. However, that is not realistic, and that should have been considered during pre-production. Any type of heavy or wet snow will render this snow rake useless. It's not a matter of whether it will break, it's a matter of when it will break.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Hard to adjust Easy enough to assemble but even though I assembled it tightly a couple of the nuts eventually fell off in use and I had to find replacements. The twist-n-lock telescoping system works nicely when the rake is warm and dry. Out in the snow and cold it froze into position and I had to bring it into the house and/or use pliers to twist and adjust the length. Overall, not ideal.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from like other reviewers head broke on first use not designed for heavy snow like we had in New England this winter.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Roofer Joe 21 ft Twist n lock Telescoping snow shovel roof rake Couldn't get the brackets on that attaches to the pole to hold the blade in place, had to call the company, they sent a video with simple instructions, it could have been included with the item. Still can't get it to lock no matter what I do, so it is not usable for me for scraping snow off the roof ,as you can't pull it with out it coming apart. The handle is made ok but the blade is made cheaply with no blade guard installed to protect the shingles. My old one did & had wheels on the sides of the blade that help protect the shingles. Could not use this item at all. I did call the company, thought it might be defective. Asked me to call back in Oct 2015 as they are out of stock & they would replace it. Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great purchase... I LOVE the fact that I can extend it at will! It works great! The poles are very strong too... I gave it a lot of abuse! I have used several other types (borrowed) and did not like any as much as this one... NO poles to drag around and lose in the snow! 2 cons: Like other people, I had difficulty loosening the collar twist locks that secure the poles from extending. I just carried a small pair of channel-lock pliers in my pocket to use in case they got too tight and not over tightening them helped a lot. They need larger ribs on the twist locks which would solve the problem. The small plastic tabs with brass inserts that hold the rake angle supports broke almost right away, if anything, this was the biggest reason for the markdown in votes. However, I fixed them by drilling them out and putting small screws with self-locking nuts and large washers on either side of the rake to secure the angle brackets. This worked very well and I was pretty rough with it (I live near Boston and we had a nasty ton of snow!). I would buy another without a second thought.
