Responding to the need for an easy-to-use machine that could tackle heavier snowfall on mid-sized driveways and walkways, Snow Joe developed the Snow Joe Ultra SJ621, a larger electric snow thrower that delivers the power of a gas machine with the convenience of an electric unit. Driven by a 13.5-amp motor, the Snow Joe Ultra moves up to 650 lbs of snow per minute. Its durable, 4-blade rotor, constructed of heavy-grade steel, cuts 18 inches wide by 10 inches deep with each pass, clearing up to 2450 square feet per hour! In addition to its hard-working plowing capacity, the Snow Joe Ultra features an adjustable discharge chute that rotates a complete 180º to provide full control over the snow stream direction. Rated 4 out of 5 by from Light Weight Thrower I have a large gas snow blower that I use for the driveway especially for wet heavy snow, but I wanted some thing that I get on and off the backyard rink when the snow is deeper. I have now had the thrower for 2 seasons. Easy to assemble. No mechanical issues, except operator driving over extension cord 3 times (not recommended). The thrower is light and easy to maneuver, but a bit under powered for my liking. I see that there is a 15 Amp model available (I don't know whether it was not available or I didn't see it), but for a few more dollars, I think I would be happier with being able to throw the snow 10-15 feet. I would be willing to give up the headlight as I never use it any way. I would also consider the cordless version (given my experience) but I worry about the power and duration of the charge. One small annoyance that I have is that you have to press and hold the start button at the same time you press the lever to get the machine throwing.

For heavy or icy snow just go back & foward dont choke the motor let it work its perfect for traveling I need to clean my house & my business so it's ligh enough and compact to put in my car. Rated 4 out of 5 by from Worked well for a novice and his wife I wanted to buy a bigger gas blower, my wife a smaller electric one. We compromised and did what she wanted! We've only lived in Canada for a few years and our previous address was well serviced by commercial snow clearing. We bought a new house, last year shovelled everything which soon lost its appeal so this year decided to try a blower. We just had a foot or so of snow. The blower did a good job of clearing the snow, much less effort than shovelling. We have a wide driveway (two car width). At around the centre of the drive the blower was getting some of the snow onto the garden but a lot was dropping on the driveway which meant this snow had to be reblown to get it onto the garden. Nearer the edge of the driveway the snow was blown well onto the garden. Changing the direction of the chute the snow comes out was easy making our curved paths not too much of a problem. On the snow the small wheels dont really work and the machine seems to slide along on its belly. The city snowplow came later and left two foot of heavier compacted snow at the end of the drive. The blower generally handled this well also although all of this was fresh overnight snow so none of the icy really compacted stuff. Both me and my wife found it easy to use even though I have rheumatic problems in my hips and shoulders. Long straight lines it works really well, having to work it round more tight spots was more tricky especially with a cable in tow but the light weight meant this was never impossible. Although I really have nothing to compare this with generally I thought the first go went well. Lets see how it goes through the rest of the season. We got this at the sale price of -$160, I got no problems with recommending this at that price.Far better than shovelling!

Can it be used with interlocking brick driveways?

Does it work well on gravel driveway? If it not,can you recommend one that does?

The one snow blower that we have that will work on gravel is the Snow Joe ION8024-XR Cordless Two Stage Snow Blower 24-Inch 80 Volt 2 x 5 Ah Batteries 4-Speed Headlights.

Does its come with extension cord?if not what type of extension cord is recommended?

Dear Norman, Thank you for contacting Snow Joe + Sun Joe. An extension cord is not included with the purchase of The Snow Joe SJ621 Electric Single Stage Snow Thrower 18-Inch 13.5 Amp Motor Headlights. The extension cord recommended to use with the unit is either a 50ft 14 gauge or 100ft 12 gauge.
