Rated 1 out of 5 by from So disappointed Bought this unit a month ago and so upset and disappointed with this purchase. We get full sun in our backyard and underneath the gazebo is hotter than sitting in the full sun. Such a rip off and so upset ! If you are looking for this to provide shade in your backyard please keep browsing for something else because this is not it. What a waste of money! On top of my post purchase / install disappointment the process to install this was painful. A lot of problem solving work required as parts were not matching up nicely. Despite what others in the reviews say it is poor quality and very flimsy. Keep shopping people and don’t settle or get sucked into this price.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Sun shelter Parts didn't always line up. Exact same item listed under a different number was $50 cheaper but I couldn't get a refund. I also want to buys some spare parts but can't seem to make that happen. It does let light through which makes it warmer than I would like. Also took way too long to be delivered. Tracking doesn't stay up to date.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love it Great sunshade, enjoy my lunch often under it, instructions are fairly straightforward. Our only issue is sometimes the screws didn't line up properly to the holes and weren't able to be tightened properly. We had a couple panels damaged when we opened the package that I think happened in shipping but they were replaced for us quickly.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Reasonable quality shelter for the price Pros: Materials are decent quality, everything was well packaged. Install is reasonably difficult and requires multiple people and ladders. It is sturdy once complete, doesn't feel flimsy. I'd highly recommend paying for installation. Roof does have UV protection on the outside. It is clear, so it allows a fair amount of light, even with opaque curtains. Tall enough you can put a small-medium firetable inside without worrying about damaging the roof. Retains the heat nicely with opaque curtains (separate purchase). Winter pole and snow tarp available so that you don't have to worry about the snow and you can use it as winter storage. The ceiling is only plastic so I wouldn't allow too much snow to accumulate. Cons: One of the beams had a manufacturing defect and could not hold the second row of curtains up, due to a missing "lip". The curtains continually popped out and dropped the rollers on the ground. The other three beams were fine. Unfortunately by the time this issue became obvious there was no easy way to fix it; 90% of the unit would need to be disassembled in order to return or exchange. Being that it took almost 4 hours to assemble, this was an infuriating prospect. The only solution here will be to purchase some adhesive flashing or thick adhesive tape to give the rollers a lip to rest and roll on. . Also, due to curtain design, you can't just omit that one side. The curtains are designed to cover two sides with one large piece. Double check the beams! On that note, the curtains have some major flaws: The mosquito (and optional opaque) curtains are secured at the posts by a small hook. If done correctly, a hook on the mosquito curtain will pass through a grommet in the outer curtain (opaque) and into the post. It can be a bit finicky to attach (because you are doing it blindly) and it comes out of the hole easily. Oh and time saving hint: The opaque curtain must be on the outside of the mosquito curtain or you won't be able to secure them to the posts at all. In the wind, the curtains will blow in and out a lot, because they are only attached at the corners. The hooks are barely secure so they are likely to come loose anyway. If you want them secured, you will have to fully open the curtains and wrap the fabric loop around the posts. You cannot just open half or one side, because one curtain covers two walls. To get around this flaw, I used ball bungees and fed the string end through the hole and around the post and back again. I bought some additional ball bungees and clip tie downs to secure the curtains from blowing around. Also our package was missing the fabric bands to secure the mosquito curtains around the post. Fortunately, when we purchased the opaque curtains we got a set. It is unfortunate that these design flaws and manufacturing must be compensated by the ingenuity of the consumer. The manufacturer could add grommets and straps in the right places to address this. I can't see any remedy for the defect except replacement under warranty, and even that is unlikely to cover all the time required to disassemble and replace the part and reassemble. Ouch. Install: HIGHLY recommended you pay for an install service. $150 or less is well worth it. A pro might also be able to recognize defects before you do. Seriously, maybe I'm dumb but it took me months to figure out why the curtain just kept falling out. But if this option is not available, you will need at least 2 people, 3 is better. Get drinks and pizzas and plan for it to take 3-6 hours. You'll need a table for all the little parts as well as drills (large and one for tight spaces), screwdrivers, and Allen head attachments for all of them. The provided instructions are ok, but not very detailed. We found one tiny video online about installing the roof, it would have been nice if the manufacturer provided a full length install video and tips. Some of the pieces took a lot of strength or problem solving to get them to fit together nicely. The roof in particular was interesting as the pieces (by design) do not fit in tightly and will want to slide out and fall as you install the other pieces. A helpful tip would be to focus on one side of the shelter at at time. Don't try to install all the upper pieces first and then go back and install all the lower pieces and then all the bottom securing pieces or you will find the roof will slide out! Finish one side, then the next and put corner screws in loosely for adding additional pieces on top. Because of the issues I had to drop at least 2 stars, even technically three but that would make it seem terrible. It's really not; the unit quality is fine and it's great for the price. The curtains are nice, it looks great. Just that the setup, manufacturing defects and inherent ease of use flaws make it far from perfect. I'm on the fence about recommending the unit. I don't want to say no, but I'd highly suggest having a pro install it, having them check it over for flaws, and buy some ball bungees for better curtain functionality. So, it's a yes but....

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Sumatra 10X10 Gazebo We are extremely satisfied with our purchase and it had withstand the Dorian high winds. We have it bolted on cement patio stone. Instructions were easy to follow and each piece we identified properly. My only suggestion is that when you do the roof complete an entire section otherwise it felt down and luckily we didn’t had any broken piece.

How can I remove the polycarbonate sheets during the winter time. Any video link that I can use to remove during winter. We used contractors for installation.

Asked by: Irfan
Hi Irfan! There is no need to remove the roof pannels during the winter season, as long as you remove any snow accumulation on the roof. If you prefer to remove them, you can look at the installation guide to see how they were installed to give you a better idea. Unfortunately, there is no assembly video for this model. Feel free to contact us at 1-866-901-1649 or by email at sojag.info@shelterlogic.com for any additional information and we will be happy to help you. Thank you for your Sojag purchase and have a great day!

Asked by: Unhandy Handyman
Hello, we do not have the snow rating, but any accumulation of snow should be removed.

Hi. I'm wondering what the difference is between this model and the Ventura which is a few hundred more? Is this not a heavy duty? Is this one easier to take the roof off in the winter or the same?

We leave the roof on all year

Can you remove the top easily enough for winter. We get a lot of heavy snow in our area.

Asked by: Shan77
The roof panels can easily be removed during the winter in order to extend the gazebos lifespan.
