Rated 5 out of 5 by from Worked great for us! We have been replacing our ancient baseboard heaters as they fail or start detracting from the appearance of the room due to age (40 years of dents, scratches and discolouration). At first, the contractor was using another brand with the heat vents on top but were concerned about the way they heated up the walls above (even darkening the paint). So for later replacements, we went with Stelco. These Stelco ones send the heat out the front and are larger for the same wattage, so they spread the heat much better. It’s a good thing as long as the size isn’t an issue for you. They are also the quietest ones we have found (although we didn’t think any of them could be considered “noisy”).

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Stelpro vs Dimplex baseboard heaters Replaced 5 baseboard heaters with Stelpro. These have a top deflector which keeps the heat from scorching the paint on the wall above, as someone else stated. They are safer around little hands that want to touch things. Things don’t fall into the unit. Had to repaint my walls after having Dimplex heaters for 2 years ( left stripe marks above the units) & the units themselves are very hot to the touch! Some also had the annoying clicking sound. Go for the Stelpro baseboard heaters!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Safe Surface Temperatures I bought this heater to replace a 40 year old heater that had failed. I was concerned about the safety of the higher heat density of the Dimplex LPC heater. It is also much cheaper than the LPC models. This heater seems to heat up quickly while maintaining a reasonable surface temperature. It has a clean aesthetic as well. It also has either left or right hand wiring built in which is handy.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Classic B baseboard heater The product comes with clear installation instructions. The installer must order a single pole thermostat to use with the heater as no thermostat is provided. The installation instructions with the thermostat are clear and easy to follow.Note that this type of heater uses a full line volatage thermostat unlike most furnaces.

what kind of square footage would this heater cover?

Asked by: Goerge
This unit will be good for 150 square feet with a ceiling height of 8 feet. If your ceilings are higher than 8 feet you can use a general rule of thumb of 1.2 watts per cubic foot to calculate your heating needs (length x width x height of room) x 1.2.

My wiring is surfaced wired through metal conduit attached to wall just above baseboard. My question is if I wire one of these heaters on the left side is internal wiring continued so as to connect another in parallel off the right side of the heater?

Asked by: tim1601
The B series baseboards can be connected in parallel on the right or left side. But you have to take current from the same point for all baseboards

Re: STELPRO Classic B baseboard heater 1500 Watts Model # B1502W|Store SKU # 1001006608. Is this baseboard heater actually 68" long? The 1000 watt heater is only 48" long. Seems like too large a difference for 500 watts.

Asked by: Bill
The B baseboard is 47-1/2'' for 1000W and 66-1/4'' for the 1500W.

Height 68" x width 6" x depth 3" ? Wrong way round, surely......The width has to be 68" and the height 6"? Would like these measurements confirmed.

Asked by: fiwi
The length of the 1500W B series baseboard is 66¼" (1683 mm). The height is 5¾" (146 mm) and the depth 2 9/16" (65 mm).

Our current older baseboard heaters have a dial on them so we can choose if we want it on high or low. I don't see a dial on this one. Is there a dial hidden under the front plate? How do you choose the temperature setting for the baseboard?

Asked by: Ontariogirly
Hello, By dial i am assuming you would be talking about the built-in thermostat. A built-in thermostat in an acceossory that does not come installed in the heater, it must be purchased separately. The thermostat will be installed at the same time as your heater by your electrician.
