Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good for retrofitting old heater Replaced a 40 year old 500W heater. This one was not as tall and maybe 1 ½" longer. So no need to repaint the wall.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good Buy These were bought to replace all the old brown ones in the house. I initially bought different brand ones, but returned them after installing the first one. Cheap plastic spacers between the wall and the heater and a nightmare to use. Also, open tops too likely to have things fall into the heater. The Stalbro were easy to install, work well and look good.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Does the Job I bought these to replace the old ones in our bathrooms: both were getting rusty and unsightly. The old ones were still working, so that shows how long they last (more than 20 years in one case!). These look better and seem to do the job well. We'll see if they last as long. Bear in mind that you will need to purchase the metal thingy's that go in the punch-out for the wires to protect the wire from the sharp edges of the frame. That was the only hassle as I always find these tricky to work with. Also the units were just a hair bigger than the old ones and I had to trim about 1/8th inch off the baseboard to fit it in. Pulling baseboards can make a mess, so I cut them in place with a dremel oscillating tool. Way easier and if you are careful it does a nice job. I did purchase two of the new convection type, but decided not to use them because of the design that sets them up off the floor and away from the wall by 3/4 inch and the heat grill on the top. Too much chance of dust and junk getting into, behind and under the unit.
