Stiebel Eltron has been a world leader in advanced water heating technology for almost 90 years. Our engineering excellence and high-quality manufacturing results in products fulfilling the highest expectations of performance & reliability. Tempra Series whole house tankless electric water heaters are 99% efficient and never waste energy storing hot water, but endlessly deliver it as needed. Tempras need no venting. Installation can be close to draw off points, making the wait for hot water as short as possible & maximizing energy savings. Tempras are sized based on the number of bathrooms. Tempras supply water at a constant temperature from 86 to 140 degrees F that is settable on the front panel. We recommend setting the actual highest temperature you use, typically 107 degrees for a shower. Tempra Plus models incorporate Advanced Flow Control that automatically reduces flow to deliver water at the set point if demand exceeds capacity. Regular Tempra models do not have this feature.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from De l'eau chaude en quantité suffisante! On nous avait déconseillé un chauffe-eau instantané électrique, mais nous sommes très satisfaits. Nous avons pris le modèle le plus puissant, et nous avons de l'eau très chaude pour les bains et le reste.

Hi, I am living in a townhouse and the electrical box is 100amp. If I want to install this tankless water heater, do I need to call a electrical technician to change my electrical box to 300 amp?

Asked by: Terry
You would need to make a change. The Tempra 36 Plus draws 150 A using 3 independent 50 A circuits. Your electrician will need to check the load of all your other electrical devices in addition to the additional draw of the tankless water heater. You may not need a Tempra 36 however. You should call our technical services department for advice as a Tempra 29 or Tempra 24 may be sufficient to satisfy your hot water demand and both draw lower amperage than the Tempra 36.

Je prendrai l'eau du lac, j'ai Deux salles de bain, quel modèle suggérez vous, doit on filtrer l'eau, quelle grosseur de boite électrique est requise. Merci Pierre

Asked by: Pierre
The Tempra 29 Plus is the most common unit installed in a colder climate, 2 bathroom home. Make sure you have a 200 amp service panel to accommodate this unit. The Tempra 36 Plus requires a minimum of a 300 amp service. Most homes do not have this large of a panel.

1) What is the unit efficiency? 2) Is it condensing. If so, how is it managed? 3) Is constant temperature maintained in shower if toilet is flushed? 4) If temp. drops, is it as significant as conventional water tank systems?

Asked by: Wazir
These units are well over 99% efficient as they are only producing hot water when hot water is being demanded and not storing hot water. The temperature will not drop with the Advanced Flow Controller as it controls the flow of water to maintain the temperature it is set to. If you have any further questions, please feel free to call our Technical Support Department at 1-800-582-8423 ext 6 Thank you.

Our house has aluminum wiring. Can this unit be installed & what would you recommend for connections?

Asked by: GARRYRD
Aluminum wire differs in size from AWG Copper wire. Copper wire is recommended. You will need to consult with an electrician on how to run new wire from your electrical panel to the Tempra 36 Plus heater.
