Rated 1 out of 5 by from Don't believe everything you read Both invoice and web description specifically state these are dimmable. They are not and therefore we're a waste of money for us in the application we desired.

Hi, Im planning to buy 6 of these replacing my old 4 lamps fixtures, but do I keep my existing ballast in there? Or this set has its own driver? Thanks

Asked by: Rogers
The ballast will work as long as its own electronic ballast exists in the current fixture or you have a magnetic ballast less than 6 years old . The T8 does have its own internal driver.

Do these replacement bulb work with or without the ballast?

Asked by: russ123
No, it will not work because of the different wirings for the bypass LED and the T8 ballast compatible ones, you can search online for the info. I had the same question before I bought the 4 footer LED by-pass tubes sold by 1 store on Alden Rd in Markham Ontario. It is to be connected to a non-shunted socket and only 1 socket end is connected to power source and the tube end that has the labeled (L: live and N: Neutral) is to be connected to that socket end, the other socket end is just a dummy socket with no wiring connected to it. So, if you have not converted your T12 fixtures to T8 ballasts then, like mine, I just buy the conversion kits and the tubes. They are daylight type so I am very happy with it. No more flickering, no more ballasts to change so you do not have to ever remove the covers. I hope it helps answering your question.
