KILLS MOSQUITOS BEFORE THEY ARE OLD ENOUGH TO BITE. MOSQUITO DUNKS are made with Bt-israelensis (Bt-i), a highly specific biological bacterium that kills mosquito larva within hours. This product will not harm people, pets, wildlife or fish. It is very simple to use, place one dunk per month in areas where water accumulates such as ponds, rain barrels or ditches. It can be used as soon as mosquito larvae are seen in early spring, keep using all summer. Larvae are present until the end of the summer season.

  1. Coverage: 1 dunk per 9.2 m2 (100 ft2) of surface water
  1. Use on land locked water only. Excellent in wet lands that dry in the summer- they will reactivate when rain comes
  1. Repeat application every 30 days

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Appears very effective I used 6 of these dunks in a dugout we have been using to swim in. The dugout is about 25 m x 25 m. The week after we put them in there was a noticeable decline in the mosquito population, which continued for the rest of the summer. I used the dunks mid-July so my only doubt about the efficacy of the product is that maybe the mosquito population naturally goes down at that time of year. But the decline in mosquitoes coincided with the dunk application so closely that I believe they were responsible. The dunks floated around for weeks getting smaller and smaller all the time, until after 3 weeks they couldn't be found any more.

I bought tons of these things to put in our ornamental pond - here in Niagara we had a lot of mosquitos, and I wanted to use something to kill the larvae without harming my aquatic plants. The dunks certainly didn't harm the plants, but they also didn't harm the mosquitos, at least as far as I could tell. The larvae were still very active, even right beside the dunks. I used exactly as directed, used multiple times, and calculated the volume of water so I know I was using enough of the product, so as far as I'm concerned, these things don't work.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Works great to reduce mosquitoes! We buy a package of these every spring. We live in the country surrounded by trees and a river and had so many mosquitoes when we moved here 5 years ago we had to run to our cars-no matter what time of day it was. What we do is get 3 medium size foil roasting pans (dollar store) and fill them with water. We place a small brick in each pan (make sure water level is just below the brick). We had a small piece of Mosquito Dunk in each pan and place them around the property (in shade near where mosquitoes would congregate. Every few days we top up the water (never dump it out!) and about once every 2-3 weeks add another small piece of the dunk. One package lasts us all season. After doing this for two years I can safely say we can actually do outdoor chores, gardening etc. We still get mosquitoes at night but nowhere near as bad.

Great product, used in my backyard water feature this year (2020) , last year it was a maternity ward for mosquitos, I wasn't sure what they were , thought maybe tadpoles , my son pointed out to me they were mosquito larvae , used very little peice of one of these "dunks" ( I know you have to add more every few weeks) ... anyway problem solved , haven't seen one this year ,,, best of all , environmentally friendly and harmless to animals and pond plants, I was confused as to why you can't buy these instore , but very happy with the product

This year the water in our back trees was like a lake and the mosquitoes were horrible. Since we put the mosquito dunks in all our standing water we have noticed a significant reduction in mosquitoes. Will certainly be reordering again.
