Would this be ok for seed starting??

Hi Roddy - this product is not well-suited for seed starting as water drains quite well through it. You would be better off with a mix that is specifically for seedling production. If you are specifically looking for a Sun Gro option at Home Depot, we would suggest the Sunshine Natural & Organic Raised Bed mix. Thank you for your interest in Sun Gro!
