Rated 5 out of 5 by from Simple to install; just check for square and align Fairly straightforward to install. Make sure roof is square; if not you’ll need to determine which way the roof is out of square and know that the Suntuf will over hang at one point. Also, if using the tracks to install on top of make sure that the Suntuf roof fits squarely on all tracks when laying the first sheet of Suntuf down. Otherwise it’s a compounding mistake and creates issues the further down the roof you go. Alignment is key. Also, make sure you have enough roof pitch. My existing pergola was 1”/4ft which wasn’t enough.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Easy to Install, Surprisingly Durable I installed these panels in early summer 2020 to replace fiberglass panels that had delaminated after 20 years. With the help of a friend, we were able to install 8 panels in an afternoon. (Yes, you have to pre-drill the holes.) After a year of sun, high wind, snow, rain, freezing rain, etc, in Southern Ontario, the panels have held up! I have to admit that I was kind of skeptical when I noticed how thin and flexible (flimsy) these panels were (compared to the old fiberglass panels) but after a year, they still look like new. No cracks or damage. The only thing I noticed is that when the sun is directly on them, they are kinda noisy as they expand/contact in the heat. Recommended (so far!)

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Used on our screened in porch It is perfect for what we needed - this is the second time in 8 years that we have used this product. We expanded the porch - not recommended that you ever reuse this product - like anything else once its up its up - to make changes it actually becomes brital. Love the look - the smoked lighting allows you to see out and enjoy the sun without being burnt - the solar is perfect!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best Stuf SunTuf. I have built three structures now with this for roofing. 4 plus years on the first and still looks great and performs well. A bit tricky to get the screws in the right depth to make sure it seals well but otherwise, very easy to use and install. I actually started just using sharp scissors to cut them as needed now. Super easy. The Solar gray is perfect for blocking just enough sun so the deck is not too hot but lets lots of light in.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from South facing deck now usable This now allows me to use my deck during the afternoon on bright sunny days. My deck faces due South, so the brightness during a hot summer day preventing me from using it. I've only had it up for about 5 weeks now, but I've sat comfortably outside during a few different rains. A small warning though: from what my contractor told me, it takes a lot more effort to put these in. I was told it took 400 screws for 360 square feet in my case. (My disclaimer is that you should do this calculation on your own, with the accessories it shouldn't be too difficult.). But I will say the extra effort was certainly worth it. I wish the Canadian location would have as many color options as what they manufacturer publishes. The picture for the product is not do it justice.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Suntuf panel ,use an awning instead I don't recommend this product, it will leak after installed, I installed it took my time to ensure each screw was tightened by hand, not too tight, not too loose and angle correct.I double overlapped each panel as I had not a standard pitch. I used the plastic horizontal straps. I feel the level of precision required to install each screw is not realistic for the average person. It might be fine if you have a steep pitch and don't care about the odd drips. I am disappointed in the product.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Light flexible and easy to use This product is very lightweight and easy to work. Best of all it cuts easily with tin snips or pruning scissor type tools. Much less brittle and less prone to chipping or cracking than I thought based on other plastic roofing I had used in the past. Just be sure to read install instructions by manufacturers ahead of time and do not over tighten the special water gasket screws you must use for fastening it to strapping

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Easy roofing panels The panels were easy to work with and got the job done. There's enough play with the corrugation that the supporting bars can be off a little but still give you good contact when drilling in the roofing screws. I had to trim a couple inches off the end and used painter tape to draw my line and a circular saw. It was easy to cut. The panels are also really tough.

We have a south facing back yard and plan to use the Suntuf Solar Grey sheets. Will this provide enough solar/sun protection?

Asked by: Allison18
Hi, Thank you for your question. The Vendor have confirmed that suntuf solar grey allows light transfer of 20% with solar transmittance of 43%. Clear would allow light transfer of 90% and solar transmittance of 86%. By looking at the difference solar grey does allow considerable protection. The effectiveness would depend upon various site factors, such as height , region, air flow, etc. of the application.

I want to install these panels under my 12’ high raised deck to provide shelter from the rain when we sit underneath the deck. Is this something that would work? I would simply attach the panels to the joists at a slight angle to allow for drainage.

Asked by: RonD
Pretty much exactly what we did and we love it. No chips or colour changes after two years, seemed pretty flexible during installation. Purchase the proper rubber backed screws and the little plastic riser tracks recommended. Be sure to screw into the top of ridge or you will get leaks around the screws.

Will these panels hold snow loads for Canadian winters

Asked by: Rose
The panels simply transfer the snow load tone structure.  Make sure the roof structure is adequate for the expected load.   I built mine with enough slope that most snow would slide off on warmer days.

Can these be cut cross wise and length wise? If so what do you use to cut them?

Asked by: Handy
I used full 12’ sheets to roof a 24’x12’ outdoor area. I didn’t have to cut the material for that job, but in a previous life I installed vinyl siding and soffits for several years. If I needed to cut this material lengthwise, I would scour it with a sharp utility knife then bend it at the score line until it breaks. I’m pretty certain this would work as well for this material as for vinyl siding. To cut across the corrugations, depending on the length of cut required, I would probably use aviation snips (the yellow handle ones). If you have the full set (red, green and yellow) you might find different parts of the cut are more easily done with each of the different snips. Full size snips would probably also work fine, as long as you tilt them over to the right. In my vinyl siding days, I used to cut across the sheet with a fine toothed panel blade in my skill saw. I think this would also work with this material but would want to try a test cut on a spare piece first. Hope this is helpful.

How many of these panels would you require to cover a 10 foot wide by 7 foot deep roof?

Asked by: Kimberley
Hi Kimberley. Normally you would use five sheets seven feet long. Unfortunately that wastes the 5 feet you have to cut off each sheet. The 26” width allows for a 2” overlap between each sheet, giving you a 24” coverage per sheet.  Cheers Peter

Where, pray-tell, are the required ridge-caps?

Asked by: ye4jim
I couldn’t find them here either. Ended up getting mine from home hardware. Also noticed they are available many other roofing places, as well as Homedepot.com (US website)
