I recommend it to anyone that needs a great splitter. One thing I really like is that it is Canadian made.

This splitter can handle anything I put through it. The vertical option is nice for the very large pieces. Canadian made with a Honda engine.......glad I bought it.

Bought this splitter some 20 + years ago to split wood from tree length logs ( a truck load every 2 years ) that I cut into 16" pieces for home heating. The Honda engine was easy to start and reliable. The machine was well designed, equipped with robust components and quality built with heavy steel members. Home Depot was renting these units out from their rental department then. That alone convinced me to buy and I've not had any regrets since.

What is the largest log ( circumference )that this splitter can split?

In the vertical position you can split logs up to 24 inches in diameter. The Surge Master wood splittter has an 9 inch wedge (competitors are only 7 inch), therefore the ability to split larger diameter logs in one pass.
