The key is that its unit cost is a fraction of the same steel nails. They are easy to use and strong to withstand hammer punches. Hold well so far no complaints.

They easily went through several layers of heavy duty landscaping fabric. Definitely recommend there for landscape fabric and edging.

How will these hold up in extreme cold climates (-40c and lower)? The plastic ones that usually come with the flex edge tend to snap when it freezes and thaws. How do these compare?

I have had them for two winters with no problems so far, but I don’t believe we have had temperatures at -40c or below. They do however pop up after the thawing and you need to push them back in.
