Would this product prevent / reduce the radiated heat from a metal gazebo roof? I plan to place the material on the inside of the gazebo, right against the roof, and held in place using magnets. Thx.

    Asked by: DanP
If the aluminum side is facing the radiated source then I would say yes. However if you are placing the aluminum side touching the metal roof then heat will conduct to the aluminum sheet and the rest of the insulation layers should reduce the heat passed through. This underpayment product is meant to reduce the floor height In places like basement so for roof top, there should be a more cost effective solution as well as better insulation solution than this product.  This was good product but costs as much as laminate floor planks per area coverage.

Can this be used in a car? I’d so, what side goes on the floor/metal side, the blue or the foil?

    Asked by: Flushed42
I used this product for soundproofing my walls. I put this material between two layers of 1/2" drywall. It worked minimally. I would not recommend that you use this for a car. A better product for that would be mass loaded vinyl. https://www.homedepot.com/p/Xtrm-Ply-SoundSafe-Mass-Loaded-Vinyl-MLV-4-5-ft-x-10-ft-Soundproofing-Acoustic-Barrier-Roll-7102-11054-10/304268301

Can you put carpet right on top of the underlayment or would you have to put something in between ? Thank you

    Asked by: Trish1531
Carpet can go over top. This product works as both a vapor barrier and insulation.

We are putting down LVT (Mannington Adura) glue down in our kitchen. Can this product be used as an underlayment? Also is it waterproof.

    Asked by: Doyle
TES Thermoquiet can be double face glued using stabdard multipurpose carpet glue. You will need to check that the vinyl glue is not solvent based as it will melt the foam. Best to try a small sample piece first.

does it help to put underneath hydronic 0.5 inch pex floor heating? what is Rvalue?

    Asked by: Paul
I don't know your circumstances so I can't say. It is intended to reduce noise under laminates. I am trying it out on the ceiling and walls of a basement bathroom to see if it reduces internal noises. It is about 1/8 of an inch think so has no R value. I am using 1 in. blue styrofoam (R5 ) under 3/4 plywood over the cement floor before installing electric in floor heating under ceramic tile,

Yes- This product is perfect for your application. Can be glue , floated or nail directly through the product . The number of nails does reduce the STC number but only by about 10% . Good Luck HC
