I was very pleased with their appearance as they graced my front entrance but was even more impressed as the season wore on to see how well my plants were doing. The design with water storage really strengthened my plants and I decided that I would order 4 more to eventually replace some of the planters I used for my tomato plants in the back garden. As I suffer from spinal arthritis I have been looking for economical as well as efficient containers for my garden that minimize back strain. These containers met all of my requirements.

If you turn the planter over on end with the base in the air and you go right up the middle there is in fact a rubber plug that you can remove so that it doesn't over water the plants! Looks great a year later. I did move them (2) to the garage for winter. I am hoping to get another pair this year...just need to make sure I remember about the plug.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Surprise! At first I was quite taken with this self watering urn. But after a few downpours, the urn filled with water and drowned the roots of the plants. It would seem that the reservoir does not have any drain to get rid of excess water. I lost all my plants and had to replant and drill hopes in the urn to drain the excess, stagnant water. It works well now that I altered it.

Would these serve duel purpose as plant pot and door stop if I mounted to my deck? I have French outswing doors looking for something to soften the blow if the wind grabs the door. Thinking these may be gentle on my doors. How rigid are they
