Rated 3 out of 5 by from Trouble It looks beautiful and appears very sturdy. In moving it, however, the handle crumbled in my hand. It is supposed to be strong, weather- resistant rubber but in a month the handle couldn’t take the heat. Wonder what snow will do to it?

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Large, tough, sturdy planter It's everything as described. Good size planter to plant a small tree in my garden. The ring in the front is a nice detail, and the fact that it is made of recycled materials is a bonus. Could easily be painted if black is not your preference. Lightweight but extremely sturdy. I live in British Columbia where it rains a lot so the single drainage hole was not enough and too small. I had to drill extra drainage holes in the bottom which is easy enough.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Beware If you look at our photo you will notice that the hole for the overflow is not drilled. So what we have are pots with no drainage. Not good. I'll bet these aren't the only two like this. I'll contact the manufacturer for advice. I think it's fixable by drilling a large hole in the center.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Planters The pots seem great, but they are made out of recycled tires and are not recommended for planting anything edible.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent - Well Made and Tough I've purchased several of these planters and I really love them. The fact they're made from recycled tires is a bonus. They are well made and have some weight to them so they're not as likely to be blown over by wind, etc., which has been a problem with light plastic planters I've bought in the past. I haven't gone through a winter yet but the rating is excellent for our Canadian winters without cracking (this has been a problem with ALL the other brands of plastic or fiberglass/cement planters I've bought in the past. It comes with a drain hole in the bottom with a plug in it. The description mentions a drain hole for overflow but it is not predrilled and you must do this. It's easy - drill a couple of holes above the level of the reservoir so that extra water from your hose or rain will drip out so that the plants won't be waterlogged and die. There is a plastic insert with holes in it partway up from the bottom. This is the reservoir. Other reviews complained about plugging. The trick is to always put PAPER TOWELS or coffee filters in the bottom of the planter to prevent soil going into the reservoir and also to stop the soil from plugging the holes you drilled for the overflow. I highly recommend these rubber planters.

how deep is this planter

Asked by: Anonymous
The exterior height is 20 inches. The planter has an interior draining apparatus at the bottom which is about 1 1/2" high. The approximate interior depth of the planter is about 18 1/2" on top of this draining apparatus.
