Rated 5 out of 5 by from Nice compliment to the 60V snowblower I own the 60v snowblower and just added this power shovel. Based on my experience with the snowblower, I'd say the powershovel is actually a bit more 'heavy duty'. I have had an issue with the snowblower hitting a rock under the snow and bent the auger and basically broke it. The powershovel has thrown everything it its way - snow/slush/etc. It's great for quickly clearing small areas without the back pain that a shovel can cause. The only thing you have to get used to is the fact it blows straight-ahead. If you want to blow it to the side you can just push it forward at an angle.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Lightweight alternative to shoveling [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought this last winter, and it only snowed a couple times, so I don't have a lot of use yet. That said, the times I did use it were awesome. I have a smaller six car driveway. The powershovel is super convenient for clearing out around tight spaces between cars, or for using to clear the back patio and stairs. Throws snow about 20 feet, and is much easier than clearing with a hand shovel. Only downside is that you can't deflect the snow to either side. It always shoots straight ahead, so you have to angle the shovel where you want the snow to go. You end up walking kind of sideways with it.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Toro 12” 60 volt electric snow shovel. This particular electric snow shovel gets down to the pavement. Because there is no direction change available it only discharges straight out in front. This isn’t a problem if you are on a large lot and the snow is staying on your own property. I use ours to clear the back deck and our front walkway. It does a great job. The 2 speeds do keep the distance down a bit which helps. The battery is more than adequate for my use . It definitely throws the snow with no problem. I found this electric shovel to be very good. I wouldn’t recommend it for small confined areas because you can’t direct the discharge to the side. The price isn’t cheap but I bought it anyway.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A bit heavy, but you can't beat the power. I live in New England and we got walloped by a storm in December. After shoveling 12+ inches I realized that is a young man's sport. I invested in this beauty and let me tell you I am so glad I did. We just got walloped again with 12+ inches and this beauty did great shoveling my walk way and around the car, including that dang plow snow. Over 5" and you'll have to make several passes, but it still beats shoveling the old fashioned way. The snow blows in only a single direction so you might get a face full on a windy day. This shovel cut my time in half and by going out every couple hours I was able to keep the snow manageable without breaking my back. I do recommend buying another battery, (though it comes at a premium) as you may need it for big snow fall without interrupting for charging. The shovel is a bit heavy but all in all manageable and super helpful. Great product.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Awesome, Makes Clearing Snow Fun! Much to love about this power shovel and I can clear even 8-10" of snow with almost zero effort. Battery lasts a long time and you might have your kids wanting to take over because it's so fun. HOWEVER, it only blows the snow forward, a limitation for many uses. If that works with your driveway, paths or sidewalk, this is a game changer! Disclosure: TORO sent me a Power Shovel to test out and review.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Throws snow far, but heavy, not back friendly [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Used first time this morning on back patio and cleared a path in yard through 12 in of snow. This thing is powerful and throws the snow about 20 ft. Feels very solid, but it's heavy - about 10 pounds heavier than other cordless snow shovels. Also, the shaft was not adjustable so for me, at 6'1", it was a bit short and I had to hunch over, especially working on the yard. Looking at other pictures of people using this they are also hunched over. I have a bad back and when I was finished my back was sore. The Toro engineers need to take 10 pounds off this thing and make it back friendly. I would only recommend it to someone who is young and strong and doesn't have back issues.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Worth the expense [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I was given this as a Christmas gift. Couldn't wait to use it. Did an excellent job clearing my walkway. Actually throws the snow farther than my 26 inch gas snow blower. A little on the heavy size, but that's because of the battery. Wish it was a little shorter so that I could get better control in tight spaces. Major drawback is that it shoots the snow only straight forward. Makes it hard going down the driveway when you get to the street. But this is a common issue with all snow throwers like this. Over all a great product.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Works perfect!!! Used it in mn on the wet slushy snow it did the job fast and throw the snow 25 ft. Need a second battery to really get stuff done .

does this shovel also use the 60v 7.5 ah battery used in the 60v snow blower?

does this shovel also use the 60v 7.5 ah battery used in the 60v snow blower?
Asked by: PES
Toro did not read the question properly. The shovel typically comes with a 2.5ah battery. My question was can the 7.5ah battery be used with the shovel?

So, If I don't have any Toro tools that use these batteries, I need to make sure the store has tool AND battery? At the price point, this thing is a la carte?

Asked by: Hyker
Hi, there! Thanks for the question. Yes, this unit #39909T is bare tool only, meaning you receive the snow shovel itself. That said, you can purchase the shovel, battery and charger together, unit #39909 you can view online at: https://www.homedepot.com/p/Toro-12-in-60-Volt-Battery-Cordless-Electric-Snow-Shovel-with-2-5-Ah-Battery-Plus-Charger-39909/313817574. If you purchase the bare tool only, we recommend using battery #88625 you can view online at: https://www.homedepot.com/p/Toro-Flex-Force-Power-System-60-Volt-Max-2-5-Ah-Lithium-Ion-L135-Battery-88625/308535832, and charger #88602 you can view it online at: https://www.homedepot.com/p/Toro-Flex-Force-Power-System-60-Volt-MAX-Lithium-Ion-Battery-Charger-88602/308536358. One note: it is not suggested to use the 2.0ah or 2.5ah battery as your single source of power in either the snow blower due to the power requirement in those types of applications. The 2.0ah or the 2.5ah battery would be best used to supplement a 4.0ah, 6.0ah or 7.5ah battery for additional run time. Thanks!

Will the 7.5 Ah battery fit in this shovel?

Asked by: Steve
Yes, any of the four better types (2.5, 4, 6.5, 7.5) will fit in this. However, the tool itself is very heavy that my 6,5 amph battery made it almost impossible to carry it. Using 2.5 amph is highly recommended and does the job satisfactorily! I also bought the bare tool but used the battery from my leaf blower!

is there a chute attachment to control where the snow is thrown

Asked by: Carol
Hi Carol, thanks for your question. The snow will be thrown directly in front of the machine with this unit. However, you can easily angle the Power Shovel to place the snow where you want it.

Does the 7.5 amp battery that comes with the snow blower fit the snow shovel?
