Rated 3 out of 5 by from Toro snowblower review I used the snowblower for about 1 hour and it worked great. Then it stopped and I couldn't get it to start again. I contacted Toro and they gave me a few places that I could take it in under warranty. I did and they told me it had a bent camshaft and "Something Extra" in the engine. They told me that they didn't know how it even ran for an hour with all that was wrong. But they fixed it under warranty and I have used it once since I brought it home (it hasn't snowed since) and it worked great. Toro and the repair company were good to work with. But I was without my machine for 2 weeks and of course, that's when it snowed and I had to shovel.

I used to have a two stage unit, and was going to buy another one until my brother told me about a single stage. Looking at the single stage unit compared to some of the monsters out there, I was a little skeptical. Well after using this single stage , there would be no reason to go back to a two stage. First, this unit is so simple to use ,lightweight,versatile ,and the packaging was done so well...hats off to Toro! I also had a pile of snow that was 3.5 feet tall by 8 feet wide and 3 feet deep, that this unit just ate through. Bottom line this unit is amazing!

It is a no frills machine with the exception of the electric start. It has power and it clears the snow right down to the blacktop. Right out of the box it was easy to assemble. I added the oil and gas gave it a couple of pulls and away we went. I was clearing 3" of heavy snow and it threw the snow 25 feet and never plugged. My 2 stage blower would have struggled. When I got to the end of the driveway where the snow plow leaves me a mess because I live on a T intersection this Toro blew right through it. I love the simplicity of this machine. I highly recommend it.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Snow Thrower, not blower Ordered 721E for home delivery and was delivered in November. Assembly takes some familiarity using hand tools. Machine starts easiy with pull starter but also has electric assist. I used it in 6" dry snow and worked well. The reason I bought it was single stage throwers seem less likely to clog with ice than 2 stage when clearing wet snow and I was pleased it did that well including the end of the driveway. It does take some effort to push through 4" snow but clears right to ground.. It vibrates in use and some fasteners loosened and were lost but Toro is sending me. I suggest adding nylock nuts to reinforce the handle knobs and add lock washers under the cover screws.

This single stage is tough and surprisingly capable of the heavy lifting usually associated with powerful multi-stage machines. It's maiden voyage with me was over a foot of snow in New England (image included) and this baby cut through it with no problem. The greatest feature is perhaps its weight. It is not heavy and my wife loves to use it to clean up where she feels I fell short lol. I would recommend this machine to anyone looking for a versatile machine that can still handle heavy lifting when needed. The staff at Home Depot was also very helpful in explaining its different features. A must have!

I tried to shovel and after one 10 foot run knew it wasn't going to happen. I bought this and was amazed at how well it handled the heavy snow. Throws it a respectable distance too for heavy stuff. My brother in law who has a snow plow business had recommended it. I was skeptical at first as I was used to the much bigger machines. Came out next morning to about 3 more inches of heavy stuff and a foot of the sludge at the bottom of the driveway. Couldn't believe it but it got rid of that stuff too! It is light and could definitely be handled by women or the elderly

VERY GOOD in removing & blowing 14" of heavy NJ snow including plowed build on driveway apron ( broke up chunks first with shovel then made 2/3 pushes). Estarter started right up but make sure really PUSH the plug into the connector as the connector is at a awkward angle. Hand starter took 1 to 2 pulls. Get help in attaching the chute and chute handle. Have someone hold the chute and handle to keep the holes lined up as the chute handle easily slips out of alignment due to having to apply tension to get the holes aligned ...very difficult keeping the holes aligned by yourself while trying to attach the bolts and nuts.

Finally yesterday we had freezing rain/snow and he went out side to clear the sleet/snow because he was worried if he waited it might be too much for the snow blower. He was so happily surprised as to how the blower handled the sleet/wet snow that he had me come outside and watch for a few minutes. The driveway was cleaned quickly and the next morning cleaning the street plow after math was also a breeze. I would buy it again. We have a short, inclined double card wide driveway where the snow tends to pile up at the end of the driveway.

Can pull start be used without being plugged into power outlet?

Yes, I bought the 721E but been using the pull start rope to see how easy it is to start. Push the primer button three times, set the choke, and pull rope. 95% of the time I only have to pull the rope once to get it started, push choke back in. Haven't had to use the electric start yet. Starts better than my lawnmower(4 to 6 pulls).

Can the chute rotation be changed while standing behind the blower?

Standing directly behind the handle it would be difficult to move the chute to it’s extreme. It is better done from the side of the machine. It is an easier reach.

That is correct for the first oil change. The first 2 hours are the break in time. The oil is being heavily used and needs to be changed. After that first change, I change it once a season.
