Rated 4 out of 5 by from Pretty good, minor quibbles I bought this a few (maybe 3?) years ago to replace a 30 year old Toro where pretty much all the plastic parts had finally worn out but the Kohler engine was still going strong. On the basis of that I thought Toro would be a good choice again. For the most part I like it, the blade-stop where the mower keeps running was a must and this feature as well as the "variable" speed is really nice. It took me a while to figure out how to efficiently unhook and rehook the bag, my old one had a side bag but I like the bag at the end better. My main complaint: yesterday my drive belt broke and you have to take off pretty much everything to get replace it: baffles, blade, blade stop and blade belt, bearings, etc. since the drive belt is tucked away behind all the other rotating parts.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Never buy a Toro again!! I bought this same mower twice and both times it failed me. The first time around I figured it was my wife for not putting enough oil in the mower so after it stopped working after only the first year I bought a second one and babied it. I changed the oil every season, had it tuned up each season and it still had issues starting or even having enough power to cut your average grass. I never left bad gas in the mower between seasons and still within 4 years it just didn't want to work anymore. My previous cheap craftsman lasted 14 years and I beat it up and never changed the oil so I'm done with Toro. I just bought a Honda for the same price and so far it's already working waaay better than the Toro ever did. Don't waste your money.

Very disappointed to find that the lawnmower was built with the lever that raises the wheels was welded on backwards so the notches could never catch. To make matters worse, I didn’t realize (why would I have even looked) until I had already put everything else together. Had to pack it back up and return to the store. I ended up buying a more powerful, correctly put together lawnmower from the competitor for $100 cheaper.

does the engine keep running even i remove the bag

Yes, unless you turn it off by pressing the stop button. The blades also stop moving when you let go of the handle but the engine continues to run.

Model: 20333C: When you stop the blade with the engine running, can you still self-propel or push the mower (say, over a driveway)?

    Asked by: Anonymous
Yes, there are two levers, one to engage the blades and another to engage the self-propel.
